Casting Tidbits: Josh Groban, Ryan Phillippe, Lindsay Lohan

These Casting Tidbits taste like snozberries! First, Variety reports that Marisa Tomei and chart-topping recording artist Josh Groban have joined the John Requa and Glenn Ficarra untitled marital crisis comedy featuring Steve Carell, Ryan Gosling, Kevin Bacon and also Emma Stone. In a story that centers on a father whose life unravels as he deals with spousal problems and tries to manage his relationship with his children, Tomei will play the first woman that Carell's character dates after he's been schooled by Gosling's character in the art of meeting women. Meanwhile, Groban, making his feature film debut, will play Stone's boyfriend.
Also, the dirty, loathsome TMZ reports that Lindsay Lohan has been removed from the cast of The Other Side simply because she's not "bankable." Writer/director David Michaels said, "Our team simply chose to move on from Lindsay and we'll soon be announcing a replacement." The film, with Woody Harrelson, Giovanni Ribisi, Dave Matthews and Alanis Morissette, is about a grad student working on a deserted island. As crazy as her public image and behavior has been, I wouldn't mind seeing her get back to making quality work like Mean Girls rather than drudge like I Know Who Killed Me (not matter how scantily clad she is in the flick). Maybe she can get back on everyone's good side with her appearance in Machete.
Finally, along with reporting a Lionsgate distribution deal for The Lincoln Lawyer, Variety also mentions that William H. Macy and Ryan Phillipe have joined the cast of the upcoming legal drama which, based on Michael Connolly's 2005 novel of the same name, is a legal thriller that centers on low-level criminal defense attorney Mickey Haller (Matthew McConaughey) who finds himself representing a wealthy client with ties to a previous murder case Haller handled. Brad Furman will be directing from John Romano's (Nights in Rodanthe) script, and the cast also includes Marisa Tomei, Trace Adkins and Michael Pena.
Well, that's all for this edition of Casting Tidbits. Be sure to stay tuned for more casting updates on the way.

I want to see Lindsay Lohan get back to acting again looking physically like she did in Mean Girls: curvy, healthy, and natural red hair....mmmmmm! Anyways, yeah, hope she gets back on track soon and looking forward to "Machete".
