Check These Out: Dark, Epic Photos from Marcus Nispel's Conan

Despite seeing some finished photos of Jason Momoa as the new Conan the Barbarian earlier this year, we haven't heard much from Nu Image / Millennium Films about the movie, which has finished shooting and is waiting to be released in 2011. However, Bleeding Cool received a new batch of photos for Marcus Nispel's Conan that are mainly (what I'm calling) wide-screen shots of the sets and battle landscapes, but without any of the primary actors visible. They're very dark and very epic and I'm amazed to see how stylized this all looks. I don't know if they're all legit, but until we hear see from this, these will have to do. Check them out!
In addition to Momoa, Conan stars Ron Perlman as Corin, Stephen Lang as Khalar Zym, Rachel Nichols as Tamara, Rose McGowan as Marique (instead of Red Sonja?) and Saïd Taghmaoui. This is being directed by Marcus Nispel of the Friday the 13th remake, that atrocity Pathfinder, the other Texas Chainsaw Massacre remake, and a bunch of music videos. It's a Nu Image / Millennium Films production co-produced by Avi Lerner and Joe Gatta and is based on the classic Robert E. Howard characters which first debuted in 1932 in Weird Tales. Lionsgate is bringing Conan to theaters sometime in 2011, but hasn't set a release date yet.

Two words: Thulsa Doom. If he isn't in this remake, then I am not in the theatre.

(for me) dunno.... Could be 300 or it could be Xena Warrior Princess. I'll wait for a trailer.

It's unacceptable that we haven't got a trailer for this movie yet! It's been filming for a long time! Oh Alex you forgot to mention that Bob Sapp is in this too.

Looks great. Then again, Pathfinder looked spectacular also - just a very bland story.

I will there on opening night and that is big for me because I have stop going to the movies. I was a big fan of Conan as a little girl. My older brother was a fan and got me to read all his old comic books and original the book. Arnold was a good comic book version. But, Jason Momoa fits the bill for the original book version. Plus I'd see anything with Jason Momoa. I'd watch him read the phone book.

got to agree with #1 ...not to mention that a remake was TOTALLY unnecessary....a continuation or "further adventures of" would have worked nicely too...its the ONLY role where Arnold was actually any good and that was because of the limited range of acting required of him in this role...really doesnt matter how well his version is acted, it is still just a repeat...why the f*&k cant we get anything original anymore????

Did the "Conan: Red Nails" animated feature ever come out?

"Dark" as in, the gamma was cranked down a little in this ridiculous, cartoony trash - right? Or did you mean "dork"? That would fit these, too.
