Yes, it's Scott Pilgrim Day everybody, so there's going to be quite a bit of Scott Pilgrim posts coming your way! Next up is a look at Adult Swim's animated short titled Scott Pilgrim vs the Animation that they made in promotion of its arrival in theaters today (go see it!). And thanks to SlashFilm for first uncovering it. It's kind of a prologue to the movie, showing Scott when he was 16 years old in high school and his early dating history, which is then part of his character in the movie. He also gets to fight a Boss Battle which was awesome. Check this out, it's a great way to get you in the mood to see Scott Pilgrim this weekend. Enjoy!
Watch Adult Swim's new short Scott Pilgrim vs the Animation:
Scott Pilgrim vs. the World is directed by brilliant British filmmaker Edgar Wright, of cult classics Shaun of the Dead and Hot Fuzz previously. The screenplay was co-written by Edgar Wright and actor Michael Bacall and is based on the Oni Press comic book series of the same name. The story follows a Canadian boy named Scott Pilgrim (Michael Cera) who must defeat his new girlfriend's (Mary Elizabeth Winstead) seven evil exes in order to win her heart. We've been following this since it was announced and as a fan of the comic books, I'm very excited. Universal is bringing Scott Pilgrim vs. the World to theaters everywhere on August 13th!
Bitchen! 1st! This cartoon is cool!

This is actually, surprisingly a very accurate depiction of one of the flashbacks in one of the books. I say suprisingly because...I mean come on, you here Adult Swim and you think spoof.

Oh, man, this short just solidified my interest in the movie. I can't wait to see it. Anyone know the song during the montage after the fight on the roof?

I wish they made a SERIES out of this, cause THAT would rule. I mean, The creator of the series has nothing BETTER to do, now that he's finished the graphic novel, so it's about time to see something we wanna see!

this needs to be a series! there is so much content from the books that is skipped in the film (1,200+ page comic vs 1 hr 52 min film), they would be able to go a few seasons with it. especially given how short episodes usually are on adult swim. this is the kind of show that would sell like hotcakes when they release the dvd collections. a perfect companaion to the dvd of the film once it's released. bound to be a classic forever. seriously cartoon network. think about it!

Actually, I don't know about it. Having read the comic book, I feel like there's something missing from this adaptation even if it's not anything majorly different. For instance I found the most enjoyable part of this was actually the summarized bit at the end before he leaves. Even though everything is technically the same, it just doesn't pan out the same as the comic.

Dude!!! Adult Swim should totally do a series.

Does anyone know what's the name of the song during the short "montage" with Scott and Kim?
