Piranha 3D

I woke up to find an email from reader "Papa Dragon" with a link to FilmsActu.com where they debuted this French poster for Alexandre Aja's Piranha 3D remake. We saw the official US teaser poster for Piranha 3D last month and it grossly oversells the 3D aspect, but this French poster is a gorgeous vintage throwback to the original 1978 Piranha (check out that poster) which was obviously originally inspired by the truly classic Jaws poster with the girl swimming and the ocean (and shark) below. This might just be one of my favorite posters of the year, I love all the barely visible piranhas in the water and everything else. Check it out below!

Piranha 3D Poster

A tremor under the surface of Lake Victoria in Arizona unleashes scores of prehistoric piranhas, an event which rallies the local sheriff Julie Forester (Elisabeth Shue), who risks everything to save her townsfolk.

Piranha 3D is directed by French horror filmmaker Alexandre Aja, of High Tension, The Hills Have Eyes (the remake) and Mirrors previously. The film's screenplay was co-written by Alexandre Aja, Josh Stolberg (Good Luck Chuck, Sorority Row), Pete Goldfinger (Sorority Row), and Grégory Levasseur (High Tension, P2, Mirrors). The Weinstein Company will be bringing Piranha 3D to theaters starting on August 20th.
