Comic-Con 2010: Reactions to Footage Shown at Marvel's Panel

July 26, 2010

Marvel Studios: Captain America / Thor

As you've probably heard from all of the buzz, the Marvel Studios panel this past weekend was one of the most highly anticipated and exciting panels of Comic-Con 2010. We provided a live blog with updates as it was happening, but as that is a bit hard to read through now that it's over, I wanted to provide a quick recap of the footage we saw and our reactions to it in a new video blog with Ethan, Alex and Tim from the Golden Briefcase for your viewing pleasure today. Marvel showed some early footage from Thor as well as Captain America and we talk a bit about our reactions to all that we saw from both of those movies. Watch below!

I wish we could show you some, or any, of the same footage that we saw, but Marvel wants to keep all of the footage they showed over the weekend a super exclusive thing that only those in Hall H got to see, but don't fret as I'm sure we'll have plenty more to talk about by the end of the year at least. The Thor footage seems to be getting quite a mixed response, with some still a bit skeptical, others really loving what they saw (visit SlashFilm for more). And if you're wondering where those new logos above are from, they're from the new websites for each movie that recently launched at Thor, Captain America, The Avengers.

marvel can do no wrong as far as im concerned. I will be looking forward to all these projects. i think the casting is spot on and the filming style already in place from the prior movies (iron man imparticular) brings a great tone to all the movies. on a side note: alex, have you seen that poster i emailed your website for batman 3?

For the love of God, was there any mention of when the footage will be shared with the general public or when we will get an actual trailer?! Oh, and thanks for the thor-rough re-cap. (couldn't help myself).

The glowing box is known as the Cosmic Cube, it can alter reality on a large scale.

However, no where as large as say the Infinity Gauntlet which can give the wearer total control of all of the MARVEL (616) reality.

I really hope the stories focus on the characters of Captain America and Thor. Iron Man 2 was nothing more than a 2 hour teaser for The Avengers. Not to say that I'm not looking forward to The Avengers, but I want to see actual origin stories for these characters.
