The Runaways Trailer with Dakota Fanning & Kristen Stewart
Apparition has debuted the final trailer for Floria Sigismondi's The Runaways starring Kristen Stewart, Dakota Fanning, and Michael Shannon. Yes, this is that biopic about the all-girl rock band known as The Runaways. Unfortunately it's not that great of a movie (Brandon and I both hated it), despite this rather badass and fairly well put-together trailer. Apparition originally put out a short teaser in December before Sundance, but now we know that it's pretty awful. This trailer also shows that it's much more about Cherie Currie than it is Joan Jett, but you probably already knew that. Anyway, watch this if you're still interested.

In 1970s LA, a tough teenager named Joan Jett (Kristen Stewart) connects with an eccentric producer to form the all-girl band The Runaways that would launch her career and eventually make rock history.
The Runaways is written and directed by Italian filmmaker Floria Sigismondi, who is making her feature debut with this after directing numerous music videos and a short film called Postmortem Bliss. This was just bought by Apparition for US distribution following its debut at the Sundance Film Festival earlier this year. Apparition is planning on bringing The Runaways to theaters starting on March 19th this month.
Very nice trailer. So What was wrong with the movie Alex?

Apparently from their reviews it was just a mess of a movie, badly paced and just a mess but looks like some good performances. I barely noticed that was Fanning when I saw that picture. I usually agree with the reviews from Brandon and sometimes Alex so Ill probably just wait for a rental.

I'm definitely cant wait to see the flick, but I've been a fan of the band for over 20 years. I'm not expecting Oliver Stones "The Doors" results. But I dont think it's going to suck.

This trailer puts me off it looks Rubbish, plus i don't like Kristen Stuwart she looks like she cracked out of her head most of the time, not for me i will be giving The Runaway's a wide berth.

This movie got GREAT reviews at Sundance. And USA Today said it was the best film that have watched.

Yeah I agree Mike #6. Kristen doesn't seem angry and sexy enough. Jett always had that I don't give a fuck attitude and with this trailer I'm not seeing it. Hopefully I'm wrong.

man, dakota fanning looks hot, it makes me feel like a pedophile. but i dont know i don't think this film will be that great, i agree with the comments about kristen stuart she just doesn't fit the part.

Agree with #13. Not that Fanning is hot but seing her taking shots and screwing around makes me feel a bit like a pedophile. Seen almost every one of her movies so far, not because I like her but because she has been damn active.

Looks interesting. I just wonder if Fanning has the power and presence to play Cherie. However Fanning does look almost identical to her.

Having lived through this whole crazy scheme I can't wait to see this movie. Knowing that parts of it will be altered as the original key members are not represented i.e. 2nd basses Jackie Fox and 3rd Vicki Blue, who's short but important rolls in the group made up the bands success. Cherie and Joan yes are the focal point but Lita Ford CERTAINLY was the grind behind the sound that was the Runaways. Her guitar playing was very unique and along with Sandy's drum beat... well if you don't have the first two Runaways LP's get them... you will understand what I mean. I will watch this movie and I will remember Jackie, Sandy, Lita and Vicki... those girls sure did rock!
