With favorite movies like Se7en and Fight Club under his belt and the highly anticipated story of Facebook hitting theaters early next month with The Social Network, THR reports director David Fincher is now in the midst of setting up a new production deal with Media Rights Capital. Although negotiations are still ongoing, apparently it's very similar to the deal M. Night Shyamalan struck with the company to oversee The Night Chronicles production banner. No name is given for banner Fincher would establish at MRC, but THR hypothesizes it may involve films in the same vein as his signature thrillers like Se7en and Zodiac. Read on!
Fincher is one of those unique filmmakers out there and with a whole slew of projects on his future slate including the American adaptation of The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo (maybe the whole Millennium Trilogy), his own take on 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea and many more projects in development. Once again nothing is official yet, so we'll probably get more details when/if the deal closes soon. As promising as Devil looks along with the talk of the other Night Chronicles films, MRC sounds like the right company to take hold of Fincher's vision and creativity. Stay tuned as this story develops.

Great film makers providing funding for up and coming film makers is what is needed right now to take Hollywood out of this economic down turn where nothing original gets green lit due to heightened risk.
