You'd think the most famous family feud would be that of the game show variety, but survey says no as it seems perhaps the most famous and outrageous family feud lies in history between The Hatfields & The McCoys which is on its way to a feature film adaptation and Hollywood Elsewhere reports Robert Duvall revealed that Crazy Heart director Scott Cooper has contacted both he and Brad Pitt for roles in the film. Scripted by Eric Roth (Forrest Gump, Benjamin Button) the story would recount the famous stories from American folklore about these feuding families, who would put the Capulets and the Montagues to shame.
Though there are plenty of details to choose from, most of the finer points deal with back and forth murders of various family members on each side, as well as one incident of hog stealing which of course led to more murders. This is a family feud of epic proportions that has plenty of conflict and even a forbidden Romeo & Juliet type romance between two of the families' children. It's uncertain how quickly this project will come together since the only mention of a timeframe was "if and when Pitt decides to clear a place in his schedule." All the talent mentioned so far, both in front and behind the camera, could put together one hell of a flick to showcase this unbelievable feud, so I hope Pitt rearranges some of his future projects to accommodate. How about you?
