Disney Running 4D Showings of 'Nightmare Before Christmas'

Fans of Burton and Selick's The Nightmare Before Christmas should already know that the animated classic gets re-released by Disney in 3D every year around Halloween. If you live in Los Angeles, you'll get a real treat if you decide to catch a showing of the movie at the world famous El Capitan Theatre. Disney is running special 4D showings of Nightmare Before Christmas for a limited time later this month. What does 4D involve? In classic Disney fashion, they'll have "special effects in the theater itself, such as wind and fog" (via Hero Complex). This is the first time these "4D Sensory Effects" will be used for a film at the El Capitan.
Sure, it's a little gimmicky, a bit cheesy, but it reminds me of the William Castle in-theater gimmicks that we don't ever see anymore. Plus, this is Disney, they are the masters of integrating effects into events and attractions, that's exactly what Disneyland is all about. I don't know how much more there is besides some wind and fog, but this should be a great experience for any big fans of Nightmare Before Christmas. Plus, if you want a truly all-encompassing experience, you can also participate in the Pumpkin King Dinner some of the nights, too. I know this "4D" is probably even more gimmicky than the 3D itself, but I love this stuff and coming from Disney, I expect it to be a fantastic experience. You can buy tickets on the El Capitan website.

I have always loved "Nightmare Before Christmas", because it's so cool~! I can't believe now that kids like Hannah Montana and stuff like that..When I was little, I loved Tim Burton, and Disney! XD I really hate it for the kids now to listen to the crap and watch the stupid stuff on TV!

The age old question...Is this a Christmas or Halloween film? That's why it's so brilliant though...

It's not 4D. The fourth dimension is time. This is 3D with sensory effects.
