Jay and Mark Duplass, better known as the Duplass Brothers, haven't broken into the mainstream yet. However, I think this could be their year. Later this week their newest movie, Cyrus, will premiere at the Sundance Film Festival. And if it's as good as I'm hoping, it could finally put them in the spotlight in a big way. However, in the industry, the Duplass Brothers are already well-known. In fact, they've got a handful of projects in the works at various studios, but MovieWeb has the details on their very next movie. Titled Jeff Who Lives at Home, it's a stoner comedy "quest" movie that will be similar to The Sword in the Stone.
"Our next movie is called Jeff Who Lives at Home. It's our take on a quest movie. It's like a Sword in the Stone movie. But it's starring a stoner who is looking for wood glue. We are always going to mess with genre and use it to our favor. I can't say too much, because my press team will maul me. Jason Reitman is producing for us. We are shooting in the spring. This is the movie we were born to make. We are more than ready to jump into this one."
Does that mean these guys are stoners? Screw it, I'm in either way! Before directing Cyrus, the two directed indie hits like The Puffy Chair and Baghead. Mark is an actor as well, appearing in most of his own films, as well as the comedy Humpday from last year. Jason Reitman, who you know as a director, has also produced films like Jennifer's Body and the upcoming Chloe. Seeing these three brilliant filmmakers work together is just simply incredible. I can't wait to see what they come up with! And I totally love the concept, too. While the Duplass Brothers are part of the mumblecore movement, this project will probably be more mainstream.

bad story idea.... Unless the stoner is trying to get high off the glue??? Then this movie should be called "Huffer"
