F. Gary Gray Might End Up Directing the Kane & Lynch Movie
We've know for awhile now that both Bruce Willis and Jamie Foxx would play the title characters Kane & Lynch, respectively, in the adaptation of the video game of the same name. Initially, stunt coordinator and second unit director Simon Crane was going to make this his directorial debut, but apparently he dropped off the project back in May. Now we have a pretty decent idea who will replace him as Heat Vision reports that director F. Gary Gray (Law Abiding Citizen) seems to be the top choice to direct this action bonanza following Kane and Lynch being forced together on a violent and chaotic path of redemption and revenge.
Specifically, the story sees Kane, a death row inmate who, along with a schizophrenic killer named Lynch, are sprung from prison by Kane's former team so that he can retrieve a stolen fortune. Kane travels to Los Angeles, Japan and Cuba, with Lynch acting as the team's watchdog in order to save his wife and daughter. Of course, nothing is set in stone for Gray to direct this gritty story yet, and other contenders like Wayne Kramer (The Cooler) and Roger Donaldson (The Bank Job) could end up snagging the job. Hopefully this project finally gets off the ground soon, as we've heard about it for over three years! Still excited?
I'd love to see Wayne Kramer take this on and break out in the mainstream with a studio movie for once. He's a brilliant film maker when it comes to drama and I wonder what he can do with a big budget and crazy action sequences.

It was reported at the end of May that Wayne Kramer would replace Crane in the director's chair because Gray had passed. Perhaps the F. Gary Gray had a change of mind. http://www.internapse.com/gamestofilm/news.php?id=3116 Latino Review did say in the report that "Wayne Kramer is talking to Millennium Films about taking the job, but no deal has been made at this point." Maybe Millennium had a tough bargain, or just can't come to an agreement with the selection of directors. Crane dropped out of creative differences, maybe Millennium wants too much control?

Aggh no, pleez do not tell me that the most mediocre director working in the business right now is going to direct this film? I thought Wayne -Running Scared- Kramer was doing it. That would have been uber-cool. F. Gary Gray - Be Cool, Law Abiding Citizen, crap, crap... Why does Hollywood makes such crappy decisions. Let me see... this thing went bad when Jamie Fox came onboard. Fox just worked with Gray on Law Abiding Citizen... Hey, Gary come direct my new movie and let's keep crapping over it. I'm out.

F. Gary Gray should keep his hands off this. All his movies feel like they could have been better had it been another director at the helms. From The Negotiator to Law Abiding Citizen.

Well Law Abiding Citizen was awesome, dont know what you guys are thinking...his other films were mediocre. None of this matters anyway because it is a videogame movie and its going to suck balls. At least it sounds like they got the story right in that synopsis, buuut yeah the hillbilly schizo part is played by an out of place shit actor.

David Lynch wouldnt even think about this movie.

I honestly don't think it matters who directs this film, it's a video game adaptation so it is doomed to fail. Thus sayeth the Box Office trends.

Terrible terrible game across the board .. made into a movie by a mediocre director. Sorry, it's time to say Willis and Fox careers have officially ended.
