Mars Needs Moms!

Over at StitchKingdom (via SlashFilm) they have unveiled the first official photo featuring a few of the aliens from the upcoming Disney animated movie Mars Needs Moms! produced by ImageMovers Digital. We've only seen one poster for this so far but no actual characters yet, so I thought it was worth pointing out, just because there is something intriguing about it. I don't know whether it's the Sims like people (I'm sure they look better in full form) or the creepy mega-parted hair the alien guy on the left has, but it's definitely worth seeing. I'm sure we'll see a trailer for this soon as well. Check out the first Mars Needs Moms photo below!

A boy named Milo gains a deeper appreciation for his mom after Martians land on Earth and take her.

Mars Needs Moms! is directed by British filmmaker Simon Wells, great grand-son of H.G. Wells, who has directed films like An American Tail: Fievel Goes West, We're Back! A Dinosaur's Story, Balto, The Prince of Egypt and The Time Machine, but its been a while since he last directed. The screenplay was co-written by Simon and presumable his wife, Wendy Wells. It's based on Berkeley Breathed's book of the same name. This was produced at ImageMovers and is being released by Disney in 3D on March 11th, 2011 next year.

This looks horrid. Who was foolish enough to give him another chance at directing? I don't care who's grandson he is, he's not entitled nor is he genetically predetermined to tell a story worth paying for. It's not wonder Hollywood turns out the most uninteresting form of entertainment in recent decades. It's time for new blood unrelated to the power that be in Hollywood...

#3 Then after Del Toros Mountains of madness hits in a couple years it will be the creepy dark monster movie period the 3 years after, seriously Im calling it now.

Half of the reason "Mars needs moms" was successful as a book was because of Berkeley Breathed Art style, Nice to see Disney threw that all out. They really Should just make "Bloom County:Race For the White House".
