Cyrus Trailer

Fox Searchlight has just debuted the first official trailer for their new Sundance comedy Cyrus that stars John C. Reilly, Jonah Hill, Marisa Tomei, and Catherine Keener, directed by the Duplass Brothers. I'm not going to watch this trailer because I'm seeing this film on Saturday and I want to go in completely fresh. But I have a feeling it looks hilarious, especially with this great cast and the two hilarious guys working behind the lens. Mark and Jay Duplass are two filmmakers who are set to break out in a big way this year. Earlier this week we announced that they're working on a film with Jason Reitman. Trust us this time and watch.

Here's a little commentary from Sundance about this film: "Cyrus becomes a dark, poignant, sometimes hilarious war dance as Molly, Cyrus, and John walk the line between creepy and sympathetic. Each member of this awkward triangle teeters somewhere between bare honesty and furtive manipulation as he or she lets loose all manner of dysfunctionality. The excruciating, delightful fun is seeing where the boundaries ultimately land." I will be seeing this on Saturday this weekend and will have our first thoughts up that day as well. Does this look like another big Sundance hit for Fox Searchlight? Is it something you want to see?

"I'm Shrek..what are you doing out here in the forest?" Love it, Im there. Zade Reily has been in movies since '87 and he has had an extremely impressive career, I suggest you maybe check out Chicago he does a great rendition of Mr. Cellophane.

Eh. I agree with the Step Brothers reference. It's like Reilly just wants to do comedies now.

This is not just a straight up comedy, has it's drama edge to it, unlike Step Brothers. Looks alright, I'm sure I'll check it out.
