Mad Max

Are you ready for more Mad Max than you could ever dream of? Or was Thunderdome more than enough? Twitch says that they've learned that George Miller is "working on not one but TWO new Mad Max films" and they'll most likely be shot back-to-back. Way back when rumors first started hitting about a new Mad Max, I remember hearing something like this, that there would be two films, so it's not surprising to hear it again (although it's not officially confirmed). The first one is titled Mad Max: Fury Road and Twitch says the second one will be called Mad Max: Furiosa. No clue what that Furiosa pertains to, but I'm intrigued.

Two back-to-back movies are a huge spectacle, which is why I'm always excited to hear about any being shot that way. There were the two Matrix movies and the Pirates of the Caribbean movies as well as the final two Harry Potter movies, but nothing else has shot back-to-back in a while. We posted a big exclusive update from actor Tom Hardy last week about Mad Max, as he's starring as Max and will start shooting sometime later this year. Now I'm wondering if those early rumors about this also being in 3D and containing a "blend live-action and animation" are actually true, too. I'm actually starting to get excited to see this. Stay tuned!

Man, Miller went from not making even two films a decade to making three in the space of two years. Man knows how to bounce back.

I think it is a smart decision in terms of financial or story narration. That is if the first one does well in BO. Well, looking forward to this one good luck guys.

#3 - Uh you really think that Alfa Junior car is going to be in Mad Max? I don't think so... Have you seen Road Warrior or even the first Mad Max?

Furiosa?... up until post #3 I thought it was a Harry Potter spell... now I know better... or not. Seriously, why the hell would they name a Mad Max movie after a car? My $2 (AUD) is Furiosa would be a place/town/stronghold.

Furiosa sounds like it should be the next movie in the Chronicles of Riddick franchise... Seriously, I hope Mel gets at least a cameo in one of these movies...even if it's just to see him splattered all over someone's windshield or his head on a pike. Maybe they can combine The Humongous and Aunty Entity into a new, genetically altered, supervillain...the new creature could wear a mask that comes off at the end revealing...Oprah!

i'm happy they are making a new mad max movie and now TWO are in the works.....as long as they aren't along the same turd path as thunderdome, which was IMO a terrible movie in the original trilogy!
