Great Trailer for Rob Reiner's Coming-of-Age Movie 'Flipped'

You've got to see this. Warner Bros has debuted an official trailer for Rob Reiner's sweet coming-of-age late 50's/early 60's period romance Flipped over on Moviefone. That may not sound too interesting, but it's a cute little romantic comedy about two eighth graders. And it looks so damn good! I'm not even kidding, this reminds me of Stand By Me, one of those great films for kids that adults can actually appreciate and enjoy as well. Maybe it's just me, but I really want to see this movie. Its got a stellar soundtrack, its packed full of unadulterated adolescent fun, it just looks like a great escape. Watch this and let us know what you think?
Watch the first trailer for Rob Reiner's Flipped:
Nickelodeon actress Madeline Carroll stars as Juli Baker & newcomer Callan McAuliffe stars as Bryce Loski.
Flipped is directed by Oscar nominated filmmaker Rob Reiner, of many great films like This Is Spinal Tap, Stand by Me, The Princess Bride, When Harry Met Sally, A Few Good Men, The Story of Us, Rumor Has It and The Bucket List. The screenplay was co-written by Reiner & Andrew Scheinman (of Mother Lode, North, Bait and the director of Little Big League). This was based on Wendelin Van Draanen's novel Flipped, first published in 2001. Warner Bros is bringing Flipped to theaters starting on August 6th later this summer.

It does look cute but I think I'll wait until it comes to cable. This isn't the kind of movie I'd spend $10 to see.

@ #8 I couldn't agree more; this has a huge Wonder Years vibe to it. It looks good... Meathead did a nice job.

This looks like fun and I'm getting a slight early Juliette Lewis vibe from the female lead. Which for me isn't a bad thing. Reiner is the zen master of this genre and it looks like a solid return to form. In the meantime, I'm all of a sudden inspired to watch Book of Love again. If you haven't seen that, it's much like this except raunchier. Highly recommended viewing. http://www.dlmentertainment.com/?p=93985&pn=Book+Of+Love+Original+Movie+Poster Cheers, Derek M

A movie about the good times, where everyone was white and didnt have to worry about black or brown people living in their towns, all they had to worry about were things like love and getting a nut off what a croc of horseshit, hey who cares they threw in a cliche song for good measure... someone has fallen off, someone by the name of reiner

I don't know where this is taking place, but it looks a little "white washed" to me.

This looks fantastic. Great soundtrack too. Can't wait to see this one on the big screen.

Funny, some of you talking about "white washed" and segregation. Guess what? It was real, and whole swaths of the suburbs (which were starting to pop up everywhere) were completely devoid of African-Americans. So, for every movie you watch like this go and check out ones like "The Great Debaters" or "The Express" (or better yet, watch the documentary "Eyes on the Prize") if you want to see things a little more balanced. Otherwise, this movie looks like good fun.

I reconize Morgan Lily from 2012 in the trailer.

A refreshingly different movie. I'm on it. I've always thought the girl that plays the very young girl in this movie has a squeeshy-face. I guess it's the facial expressions she always makes in every movie...

sorry, but for me flipped has already flopped. i can't believe that people will go and see this on mass. id like to be proved wrong, but if Iron Man & Prince of Persia is what people "want". I can't see how this could remotely compete, especially seeing as the poster has a kid on it. Kids aren't nostalgic about a time they have no idea about. Adults might be, but they can always watch re-runs of Happy Days, Brady Bunch & Partridge Family. Right? Does anyone not notice that?

Finally it looks like a REAL movie about real times and not a fantasy blow it up, graphic based movie or Disney actors who can't act. Really looking forward to it and love the soundtrack in the trailer. Wish popcorn could be .50 cents like it was back in 1963 too!! Can't wait to see it. Looks like Rob Reiner found some new young stars too.

All I needed to see was "Coming-Of-Age Rob Reiner film" and I'm on-board. WHY? This looks Keen, Daddy-O. And most everything aimed at the Boy-Meets-Girl younger generation is complete crap nowadays.

This was a pretty cute book, I'm glad someone like Reiner is the one directing it! #26. Get over yourself. It's a youngadult book. FOR KIDS. Step out of your box.

@ 17 yeah book of love is actually a pretty great movie, it has raunch but heart too and i like how it ends as well, this looks good and it will find an audience, not every movie needs to break the all time box office record to be a success, and #20 should we be worried about having different colors living with us? are you worreid? is that all you do is worry about different skin tones? i mean lets talk about long term enviromental effect re: a certain oil spill for things worht worring about....dumbass

Mmmmm...this looks a little too sappy for me. Honestly I don't understand the age-group they've decided to go with. I wasn't really attracted to girls until at least high school. This just seems kinda creepy that they're playing a love story out at this age.

#26 how old are you? Do you think if someone "wants" Iron Man 2 or Prince of Persia, that is all they want to see and can't like anything else of different genres? It does not have to compete with them. Do you think if people are feeling nostalgic that they would really want to see the brady bunch or partridge family? Ugh!!!!!! And kids are too young to be nostalgic about much of anything. Right? Do you not notice that?

clearly you cant read #30.... lol and to atomic punk, you proved my point exactly, why watch a garbage movie like this that deals with nothing, when you could watch a good movie that deals with something

@26 Good movies don't have target audiences because people will see on just by hearing that its good. You're argument is invalid.

gweat twailer wob weiner! What an amazing movie about wuv, growing older and living in the early '60s! really touching on the serious issues of the '60s. like small town life, white people... that was a more wholesome time. I'm really feeling this movie! Good vibes! Are you kidding me? Is this a goddamn joke? Is everybody here serious? Please, be kidding. Please. Rob Reiner does karaoke of all his older movies!

Are you guys nuts. This is a feel good movie at a time when everything else is murder and mayhem, vampires and wizards. Reiner is back at his best, the reviewers say. Well good for him. Reiner says himself he searched the world for the boy lead and found him in Australia. Give it a chance and stop pontificating. Its a movie, if you dont want to see it you dont have to. The book was something I loved in school. Good one Rob.
