To counter the new trailer for James L. Brooks' romantic comedy How Do You Know, 20th Century Fox has debuted their new trailer for Love and Other Drugs, the Edward Zwick-directed, drug industry romantic comedy starring Jake Gyllenhaal and the always lovely Anne Hathaway. I don't know though, this ain't no James L. Brooks, the comedy just looks a bit more cheesy, it almost feels like Hitch and Spread smashed together then mixed with Thank You For Smoking and She's Out of My League, or something like that. Hate to make comparisons, but this looks a lot more bland that I was expecting. What's happening to Ed Zwick?

Follows the relationship between a drug industry salesman and woman he meets on one of his sales calls.
Love and Other Drugs is directed by Oscar winning filmmaker Edward Zwick, of films like Glory, Legends of the Fall, Courage Under Fire, The Last Samurai, Blood Diamond and Defiance most recently. The script was co-written by Zwick, Marshall Herskovitz (The Last Samurai, "Quarterlife") and Charles Randolph (The Interpreter) and is based on Jamie Reidy's 2005 book "Hard Sell: The Evolution of a Viagra Salesman". Fox is bringing Love and Other Drugs to theaters everywhere starting Thanksgiving week, on November 24th.

looks alright but maybe zwick should stick to more serious material blood diamond/last samurai/defiance/etc.

Hathaway please start picking better roles! I guess this si just a paycheck role for both Gyllenhaal and herself.

Another typical chick flick, but since Gyllenhaal and Hathaway are pretty good actors so they might be able to help it.

Just cause she has nude scenes or sex scenes doesn't make her a slut. The story is weak and there doesn't seem to be too many factors outside their relationship or his work relationship to keep it engaging. It could easily be passed off as a dramadey more than a comedy because it's focusing on sex which could hinder the effects of the less risque humor. Still they're two of my favs so...

what happened to zwick, indeed - i loved "thank you for not smoking". it was very clever and well acted. this movie looks like a total mess. it's hard to decide what zwick is trying to do with this. then, there's the acting (or lack thereof) i want to say that i'm not here just to badmouth this with internet-hate. i watched this trailer because i REALLY want to find at least 1 movie that ann hathaway is in that i like; and, i REALLY want some sign that she can act..........and this aint that movie. her acting (as usual) is on par with an average porn star and she looks like she still uses the same make-up person as christina aguilera (not a good thing) . Gyllenhaal doesn't seem too bad in this; but, the movie is so terrible that he isn't going to be able to save it. this movie makes "how do you know" look like an oscar winner (said with EXTREME sarcasm)

I still dont buy Jake Gyllenhaal as a main masculine figure in a movie. He is no masculine, no sexy, or at least not enough for this kind of role. Hugh Jackman is a man who could portrait a ladysman. Not Gyllenhaal. I also agree with Xerxex: Hathaway should star picking better roles and stop loosing weight, she is way tooooo skinny and not sexy at all.

Sorry... I can't get over those two in Broke Back Mountain together. If I would see this movie... I would expect the ghost of Heath Ledger to appear and say "I wish I knew how to quit you."

This has "hit" written all over it...two very attractive (well, Hathaway isn't very attractive...she's AWESOME) with a pretty decent script. Looks better that the average rom-com to me.
