Okay I hate to continue dropping even more video game trailers on you guys today, but this looks absolutely incredible! Although, we did just learn that Mortal Kombat: Rebirth trailer was actually for a movie anyway. Maybe this one will be a movie soon, too? Heat Vision is highlighting a new trailer for the upcoming Square Enix / Eidos Interactive video game Deus Ex: Human Revolution. It's a futuristic cyborg badass sci-fi action game that combines ideas and aesthetics from Blade Runner and RoboCop. This glorious new trailer is out just in time for E3 and is truly jaw-dropping to watch. Check it out and just imagine that as a movie!
Deus Ex: Human Revolution will be out on the Xbox 360 and PS3 starting on February 28th early next year.
Heat Vision says that Hollywood is "a-buzzing this week" about Deus Ex: Human Revolution and explains a bit about why that might be (though after watching this trailer, you already know why). Obviously that bit about Blade Runner and RoboCop is a big sell, but it also shows us "things we've not seen before" like that badass "head-spinning scene." Hell yes! Secondly, and importantly: "Story, story, story. This thing actually has a well-thought-out and deep story that seems to go beyond your average video game and helps create a tangible world with social problems while giving us an interesting protagonist." Couldn't agree more and I'm glad to see that. I can't wait to play this and I hope in due time it'll hit the big screen, too! How was that?

Hollyweird needs to start hiring Game writers, so many ideas from those people. The trailer was badass.

man...we need movies that look like this...stylized fighting...badass intense action that cant actually happen...ever since the Bourne Movies (which i love) Hollywood has been on the "real violence"....we need crazy movies like this....like number 2 said....Let video game writers write movies! im sick of movies trying to top other movies by having the same plot and all that....

I'm never one to drool over videogame trailers but that was really well constructed. I just hope it lives up to the greatness the trailer had to offer.

that trailer was done by the cg masters from Square-Enix.The makers of the final fantasy games, and that Final Fantasy cg movie from years back. It looks cool as hell and i pray they make a full blown movie!

I'm curious as to what the gameplay will be like... really hope it won't be turn-based.

@14 the second game was first person, so this one may be as well. But who knows, we'll def' find out at E3 next week.

if they made that game 3rd person, it would be awesome and I would definitely buy that. Althought I'll probably buy it anyway but 3rd person would make it sick!

The first game is most likely the best game ever made, any game youve ever played that involved customization, actual decisions that effect the storyline and intricate plots(bioware games)....Deus ex revolutionized all of that. Those of you who are wondering about this need to look up the original. The storyline is unmatched when it comes to being intricate and no cliche bs. The only game I can think of that can match Deus ex's story is Mass effect. This game is a prequel it shows the events that led up to the first game, me being the extreme nerd that I am, My anticipation for this game is infinite, the feeling I had in my stomach when I watched this a few days ago shows how much a videogame can do with a story. Most of you probably have no clue whats happening here but for me its all "ooooooo my gooooood".The trailer reminds me a lot of the star trek trailer last year. Also #9 get your shit straight deus ex came out in 2001 and its storyline is based off of modern "conspiracy" theories, this aint no ripoff. Funnily enough a lot of the things in the first game are actually happening in the real world now. Also like Xerx said, Videogame writers have some of the most original ideas, but they wouldnt work well in a movie because the stories require hours and hours of time to emotionally attach to the story, through gameplay and cutscenes you become part of it....if they could do that in a movie Id pay 200% price for the tickets......now all I want is some gameplay, but e3 is right around the corner so fuck to the yes. This is a story 10 years in the making.

Btw the original is an RPG/FPS hybrid kinda like Mass effect except waaay deeper. The devs for this actually did a Q&A directly asking fans on IGN what questions they had and they answered em all, Its gonna be the same kinda game as the original except way better and probably streamlined more for the masses.

http://www.internapse.com/gamestofilm/news.php?id=2667 There was a movie in development at Columbia Pictures back in 2002 with Greg Pruss writing and Laura Ziskin producing. The film would also be set in the year 2052 as the world confronts the threat of a world killing disease, an economic collapse, and the threat of global terrorism. The world's hope falls on JC Denton, a highly-trained, nano-technology enhanced counter-terrorist who is sworn to protect the government. But as he unravels one conspiracy after another, he must decide between continuing to serve the government or overthrowing it. However, something happened and the film never happened.

Agree with #17. Deus Ex (the original game) is one of those games which you can enjoy playing as a well-done First Person Shooter, blowing up everyone you see... but it can also be played as a Metal Gear game, sneaking around every enemy and trying not to be detected by anyone or anything. It's got a pretty awesome story, with a lot of depth, and it also has a lot of hidden surprises all over the place.

Mmmm, delicious dystopian sci-fi. A movie could be cool, but personally, I'm there for the game! :] Video games are really starting to come into an interesting storytelling prime of late. Everything from the scripts to the voice acting is reaching a movie-level quality, and the stories are getting more and more character-driven and cinematic. But where they differ from movies is their level of investment. Because you can spend anywhere from 8 to 60+ hours playing a single game with a single story and protagonist, the odds of you becoming emotionally attached and invested are much higher. More akin to a television series, except with a concentrated narrative like a novel. Red Dead Redemption is the best recent example I can think of. Just beat that game a few days ago and I'm still thinking about it; the ending hit me like a ton of bricks.

@24 John Hillcoat (director of The Road) also directed a 30 minute Red Dead Redemption film that showed on FOX a couple weeks ago. He used the in-game engine. I started watching but quit, it was giving away too many cut scenes from the game. I still haven't finished it.

There are a couple reasons for the hype. First, the original game for the PC is considered by many to be the greatest game of all time. Secondly, the advancements in technology since the original game was released should make this new game incredible if it still the same story tellers and game designers.

@22 Well this takes place in 2027, The first game was in the 2050s. JC denton was part of UNATCO remember?.....the whole agency behind "the collapse". This is showing how the collapse began and the start of the grey plague. By that alone Im pretty sure JC denton wont be seen or mentioned in the game unless its in the final hour of the game. Im also gonna guess Jensen is either working for seraph industries or the start agency that grew into UNATCO, and he will probably realize half way through hes working for the bad guys and go all lonewolf style but I shouldnt say that.

To all fans of CyberPunk stories....this is THE Game that really defined what the genre is...It's no Ripoff.... It's a masterpiece of game play and story telling....There different endings in the first & second game that changes the outcome. In fact this really is a precursor game to the Mass Effect genre of action RPG! I've never liked shooters...ever...but this one had story and decisions and endless possibilities to finish a mission, that I was immersed in the story and invested in what i was doing....only Mass Effect has given me that feeling. This trailer is what i needed as a CyberPunk freak and a gamer!!! OMFG it will be so long to wait for this game...but if I waited for ME2...I can wait for this one... Here's some quick links for those who know nothing of Deux EX! *Main theme song of first game: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=t1oxIrAX39M *Best scene of the first game (careful **SPOILERS**): http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ye68o5tRgLI *Intro of second game: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ay3TwmchxWA

looks sic, would def check it out as either game and or movie. however nice enough plot wise/style for a movie, to me it, it seems like it can only be pulled off solid done as CGI digital ala Final Fantasy styles (or whoever worked on the trailer) and not live action... doesn't feel as though it'd transition well to live action.. tho in the right hands..

Am I the only one that just wants to see this made into a CGI movie? Because I know as hell if/when Hollywood touches this, it'll be ruined... :-/
