Earlier last week, Sony Pictures Classics debuted another theatrical trailer for Richard J. Lewis' Barney's Version, the indie drama starring Paul Giamatti, Dustin Hoffman, Minnie Driver, Rosamund Pike, Scott Speedman and Bruce Greenwood. Yes, we featured a short teaser trailer for this same film back in August, so this isn't our first look at Barney's Version, but it is a well made full-length trailer that should interest a few of you. This is actually a lot more dramatic than I thought, I guess because I expected Giamatti to be funny, but it looks surprisingly quite charming. It's a deserving trailer of the Indie Trailer Sunday spotlight. Enjoy!

The picaresque and touching story of Barney Panofsky (Paul Giamatti), a hard-drinking, cigar-smoking, foulmouthed 65-year-old hockey fanatic and TV producer, reflecting on his life's successes and failures.
Barney's Version is directed by Toronto-born filmmaker Richard J. Lewis, mostly of various TV shows like "Due South" and "CSI" as well as a 1994 film titled Whale Music. The script was written by Michael Konyves (of SciFi movies Solar Attack, Earthstorm, Storm Cell, Fire & Ice) and is based on Mordecai Richler's novel of the same name. Sony Classics is bringing Barney's Version to limited theaters on January 14th, 2011.
