The Concert Trailer

A couple of weeks back, we shared the official UK poster for this film called The Concert, starring Mélanie Laurent (Shosanna in Inglorious Basterds) and Aleksei Guskov. The Weinstein Company recently released the official US trailer for the film on Apple so our worth watching indie trailer today is for The Concert. A lot of you will probably be thrown off by this, as it's a wacky comedy that involves a classical orchestra, which is just a weird concept to begin with, but it doesn't look bad at all. In fact, it actually looks pretty good, like lots of fun scenes with great music, so I suggest checking this out. Plus, Mélanie Laurent is just beautiful. Enjoy!

This is based on the true story of Russian conductor of the Bolshoi, Andrei Filipov, who was fired for hiring Jewish musicians. Now working as a janitor, he brings back all of his musicians to play one more concert.

The Concert is both written and directed by French-Romanian filmmaker Radu Mihaileanu, of Train of Life and Live and Become previously. The screenplay was written by Mihaileanu and Matthew Robbins (Mimic, Blood Brothers) & Alain-Michel Blanc (Live and Become, Ezra). This played at the Rome Film Festival and is being distributed by The Weinstein Company. The Concert arrives in very limited theaters on July 23rd.

looks quite entertaining. well, the performers all seem to have their shnit straight. I certainly hope they add a little more to the seemingly shallow characters. The story itself seems a little lackluster.

that was one of the worst trailers i have ever seen (mostly due to the awful narration). if this movie is truly about the music, make the trailer about the music too. we're not dumb. we don't need to be spoon fed the entire plot. however, i am so pumped for this film despite the terrible trailer

I agree with 4 about the voice over, but I think they're trying to maintain that it's a comedy and most comedic trailers do have some sort of narration. The film looks great though, it'll be interesting to see how they can pull off having 80 main characters; that's quite the ensemble cast.

Yeah, the voiceover guy sounds like he should be doing a teen road trip buddy movie. The film looks decent enough.

im sorry but that voice over is shockingly bad. the films looks great though. why is thet voice used constantly for light hearted trailers? it cheapens the movie
