You Will Meet a Tall Dark Stranger Trailer

Here we go - Woody Allen is back with his 44th film. This first international (but not dubbed) trailer for Woody Allen's You Will Meet a Tall Dark Stranger has debuted online (found via SlashFilm). It is still in English (with Spanish subtitles) and it is very Woody Allen-esque, so be prepared. This ensemble quirky comedy stars Josh Brolin, Naomi Watts, Freida Pinto, Anthony Hopkins, Antonio Banderas, Gemma Jones, Lucy Punch, and oh yea, Ewen Bremner. I saw this in Cannes and it's okay, not that great, but not bad, just another mildly amusing Woody Allen romantic comedy or whatever you want to call it. Check it out below.

Watch the international trailer for Woody Allen's You Will Meet a Tall Dark Stranger from YouTube:

A little romance, some sex, treachery and apart from that, a few laughs. The lives of a group of people whose passions, ambitions and anxieties force them all into assorted ludicrous and dangerous troubles.

You Will Meet a Tall Dark Stranger is both written & directed by iconic filmmaker Woody Allen, who began is illustrious career in 1966 with What's Up, Tiger Lily?, later won Oscars for Annie Hall and Hannah and Her Sisters, and is directing his 44th film after recent flicks Scoop, Vicky Cristina Barcelona, Cassandra's Dream and last year's Whatever Works. This recently premiered at the Cannes Film Festival. Sony Pictures Classics is bringing You Will Meet a Tall Dark Stranger to theaters starting September 22nd. Interested?

Many of the players here seem to be out of their comfort zone. Not to say they are. I think this is a winner, only if the several characters shown serve a great purpose. Woody Allen isn't a go to guy in my book for entertainment, but I can give him a shot with this one.

i used to just love woody allen's movies. annie hall, manhattan. heck, i even liked stardust memories. then he started making essentially the same movies over and over again. changing the setting to european locales doesn't disguise that fact. . I haven't seen a new woody allen movie since mighty aphrodite. i don't think i have missed much. '

there is terrible lack of sex appeal in this movie. i don't think anyone under 50,woody allen fan or not, would be intrigued by this trailer.

Woody, Woody, Woody. I swear you were better when you were ripping off Federico Fellini, funnier when Howard Stern was goofing on you and actually news worthy, despite the negative and fucked up aspect of it all, when we first learned you fucked and married your adoptive daughter.

Reviews are already in and it's universally considered a dud, one of Allen's worst, and that's saying something. What happened to you Woody? Oh yeah, you lost cultural relevance, the worst thing that can happen to an artist.
