James Marsden and Russell Brand Join the Comedy 'I Hop'

No, there isn't a food service comedy poking fun at the International House of Pancakes on the way. THR's report refers to James Marsden and Russell Brand joining I Hop, a live-action/CGI hybrid comedy that follows Fred (Marsden) an out-of-work slacker who accidentally injures the Easter Bunny (voiced by Brand) and must take him in as he recovers. As Fred struggles with the world's worst houseguest, both will learn what it takes to finally grow up. Directed by Tim Hill (Alvin and the Chipmunks), this sounds like another Kangaroo Jack waiting to happen but with writer Brian Lynch involved, I can't help but be interested.
Lynch (who has also worked on Shrek spin-off Puss in Boots) is quite the comedic talent on the page (you can see great evidence of this via his Twitter). He wrote the script with Cinco Paul and Ken Daurio (who both wrote Horton Hears a Who and Dinner for Schmucks), so while I would normally dismiss a concept like this, their involvement is certainly intriguing. Honestly though, I would almost prefer going back to the old school blend of live action and animation in the vein of Who Framed Roger Rabbit or the grittier Cool World. The CG characters don't offer anymore realism since the characters are made to be completely unbelievable. Anyway, I hope the talent behind the script means this won't be a painful comedy to endure.

This would be awesome if it were a R rated or PG-13 movie but that's because I can see so much potential coming from a comedy like that. A f'd up kid premise type movie with PG-13 comedy, hear the Easter bunny with a dirty mouth just makes me all smiles.

Perhaps they mean a horny rock bunny. What do you think? Hollywood is going cold turkey on pork. Tinseltown is even importing sleaze from the United Kingdom. Russell Brand does Brand Hollywood no favours. He is famous in the United Kingdom for his bizarre and anti social behaviour. He harrassed and abused an old gentleman. There was public outcry in the media at the time. He advocates promiscuity and perversion. What attracts women to this "Rudolph Valintino" of the silverscreen? Chlamydia, Gonorrhea, Syphilis, Herpes Zoster, Vaginal Thrush, Bartolin Cyst, Scabies or are they addicted to penicillin. He is a shameless swagger, with no substance to his character. Hollywood and his future leading ladies are welcome to him. We will know where they have been. For that matter, so will their grandfathers. He will end up in a Hollywood trash bin, with the latest edition of his " My booky Wook" stuck deep up his pile infected anus. So much for wholesome family entertainment. See you in the stalls.....
