COMIC-CON 2010
Joss Whedon & Morgan Spurlock Working On Comic-Con Doc

This is some of the best news this week. E! Online (of all places) is reporting that fan favorite comic geek / director Joss Whedon and filmmaker Morgan Spurlock (of Super Size Me and Where in the World Is Osama Bin Laden?) are teaming up to make a documentary about Comic-Con, the mega geek event that takes place every July down in San Diego. I think it's safe to assume that if you're reading this, not only do you know what Comic-Con is, but you've either been there or desperately want to go, which is why this is great news. The doc will focus on "a still-to-be-cast group of convention-going superfans." Anyone I know?
E! Online, being the shabby station they are, doesn't provide any other info about who's producing or any other details. "They want to follow people for about three months leading up to this year's Comic-Con," a source told them. "And then they want to film them there. They're looking at all types of people." Either this is a cruel joke and E! is just trying to find their own die-hard Comic-Con fans for their own coverage, or this is really a great idea coming together. Spurlock was down at Comic-Con last year to find Simpsons superfans for The Simpsons 20th Anniversary Special documentary, so he knows his way around (as does Whedon).

this could be very intresting indeed seeing all the different types of lifestyles people have that are into comics, being a huge fan of comic books & graphic novels myself also being from england bit hard to get to the conventions, we really don't get anything on the scale of comic con over here.

Morgan Spurlock should just follow Bob Stencil around instead. That would be a great Comic-Con documentary.

Not that I'd ever be interested in seeing a documentary about Comic-Con anyway, but I really can't stand Morgan Spurlock.
