Zero Hour Countdown

I love viral marketing. I love the mystery and intrigue surrounding big games like this, I love everything. Earlier this week we reported on the discovery of a new viral site for Tron Legacy called just Zero Hour (located at flynnlives.com/zerhour). A countdown clock was initially all that was discovered on the site, and it's set to expire next Wednesday, February 24th at 8AM. However, a few days later a few mysterious pixels started showing up beneath the binary countdown clock, slowly forming a list of around 25 different cities which we think will be part of the next "game" (to be held locally in each city) when this countdown ends.

Flynn Lives Zero Hour

Here are the 25 cities listed on the site: Sydney, Denver, Madrid, Paris, Boston, Washington DC, Orlando, Atlanta, Raleigh, San Diego, New York, Philadelphia, Toronto, Austin, Minneapolis, Nashville, Chicago, Salt Lake City, Los Angeles, San Francisco, Portland, Seattle, Las Vegas, Phoenix, and London. Our friends on the Tron Sector forums have been following this closely as well. We're not sure what will happen on Wednesday morning, but if you live in one of those 25 cities, you will definitely want to get up at 8AM PST and find out what's going on. Stay tuned for more next Wednesday!

Denver FTW....if that little marketing clip I saw last year is any indication of the movies quality this is going to be absolutely amazing.

I live right outside Philadelphia. The real question is what to do or where to be once the countdown ends.

#6 - From what I'm hearing, you might want to be up there. Only if you feel like it though, because I don't want to send you up there and have you wait around all day doing nothing.

Sydney? Typical of US marketing to choose the least film centric city in Australia. Less film and television comes out of that bloody state than the whole country put together. Why is Melbourne never on any lists? Katie Holmes, Nic Cage, Eva Mendez, Alex Proyas, Rutger Hauer, Rob Lowe, Steven Spielberg have all shot film and television here, just to name a few; and not once NOT EVEN once do we get listed by anyone in US marketing for anything. Mad Max, Metal Skin, Romper Stomper, Queen of the Damned, Nightmares and Dreamscapes plus many, many more films were all made in Melbourne. Leigh Whannel, James Wan, Geoffrey Rush, Baz Lurhman and so many more Aussie film talent came from...you guessed it MELBOURNE! Get this through your heads, Sydney is NOT the capital of Australia or film and television. Melbourne is the arts capital of Australia, everyone knows it, except Hollywood.

Grr, of course it has to happen on the day I'm going on holiday. Flight leaves that exact time. Not much of these movie virals happens here in London, and I was hoping we'd get to get some Tron action here. Glad that we finally are part of it, but annoyed I'll be missing it. Ah well, fingers crossed this is only the first step.

#10 I'm also disappointed Vancouver's not on there.

#10 / #12 - Don't think they can do Vancouver because the Olympics make it too crowded and impossible to do something "in the city" if something like that happens.

I'm in Orlando. Maybe I'll keep the car tomorrow just in case...
