Briefly: Well before its official Sundance 2011 premiere in January, Magnet Releasing - the genre arm of Mark Cuban's Magnolia Pictures - has acquired distribution rights to Canadian filmmaker Jason Eisener's feature-length debut Hobo With a Shotgun, following his short film Treevenge. We've seen a trailer and poster for this gritty grindhouse flick starring Rutger Hauer as the hobo and there's already plenty of buzz for this coming up at Sundance and probably Harry Knowles' Butt-Numb-a-Thon this weekend. Congrats to Eisener and his entire cast & crew, as this is fantastic news for a film we're hoping will be an instant classic.
