Mark Wahlberg Might Be Joining Seth MacFarlane's 'Teddy Bear'

In April we heard that Universal had picked up an original hard R-rated comedy from "Family Guy" creator Seth MacFarlane about a 33 year old man whose teddy bear (voiced by MacFarlane himself) comes to life and poses problems for him as an adult when it gets in the way of a relationship with his girlfriend. Now it looks like Teddy Bear may have found its leading man as Pajiba reports Mark Wahlberg is considering the lead role in the flick. Last we heard the film would mix live-action and CG for the bear that apparently "likes to party, pick up women, smoke pot, and play video games." So he's any character from "Entourage."
The report from Pajiba also mentions a couple of other roles in Teddy Bear (though no actors are currently attached to any) including "a racist homosexual, a woman obsessed with talking about men shaving their assholes, and a 'Jewish-looking' person who makes anti-Semitic remarks." Sounds like MacFarlane is just transferring all his humor from his trio of animated series on Fox and putting them into a live-action movie. That doesn't sound all that bad, and when I picture Mark Wahlberg arguing with an asshole teddy bear, that pretty much seals the deal for me (see our amazing photo above). What do you guys think about this?

"so the bear is basically a live action version of Brian the dog…" or Roger the alien or Tim the bear or any other anthropomorphic Seth Macfarlane creation This man has proven formula and hell if he'll stray from it.

I think Seth Rogen would be better in the Mark Wahlberg roll.

Family Guy's humor works on occasion, 22 minutes at a time. He'll have to change the pace and tone up a lot in order for it to work out. For some reason I see this project actually being made well. Maybe its the fact that Marky Mark hanging with a teddy bear could be funny.

Is this a new trend, buddy movies with actors and stuffed toys? First Mad Mel, now Wahlberg. Plushies will be pleased.

I agree w/ 7. I can totally see Seth Rogen in this role. I'm not sure about Markie-Mark though.
