Michael Fassbender Wanted for Roles in X-Men & Spider-Man

More interesting casting "news" to sort of report on, since it's not even close to being official. Showbiz411, which is a reliable blog, says that actor Michael Fassbender (seen in 300, Hunger, Inglourious Basterds, Fish Tank, Centurion, Jonah Hex) is being "pursued" for a couple of big roles in two upcoming comic book movies. First, he's the person that Matthew Vaughn wants to play Magneto (aka Erik Lehnsherr) in Fox's X-Men: First Class reboot. Secondly, apparently he's in the running for a villain (they say "the villain") in Spider-Man 4, but I can't imagine there's only one villain in that reboot. But neither role is confirmed yet.
I hate reporting on this kind of casting news because it's way too early to be talking about it and it's all very speculative anyway. He could, in the end, not star in either of these roles. Showbiz411 says he "can't do both" (why not? because of scheduling?) so he'll either have to choose one role or the other (or neither). We also already know that James McAvoy has been cast as Charles Xavier in Matthew Vaughn's X-Men: First Class prequel. But we haven't had any official casting for Marc Webb's Spider-Man reboot yet. I love Fassbender and I'm always glad to see him in any movie, so either of these would be fine by me. We'll keep you updated!

I could totally see Fassbender as Carnage or Mysterio. As for Magneto I'm all for it!

That picture for some reason makes me think of Norman Osbourne from the Spider Man Animated series. I think that he would be a good Green Goblin, but thats just my opinion. Now on the magneto stuff, i don't really read First Class that often, but if yall think he'd be good, i guess i say so too.

whoah....him as Mysterio ( great suggestion #1) would be cool as hell. Mysterio was one of my favorite villains I think it wouldnt be a scheduling problem....if you look at the year he has had, he has shot like 3 movies back to back within the span of 6 months...and these 2 are slated to shoot at different times

Honesly #1 ... there is no reason to mention Carnage before Venom..... and seeing this as a start over reboot than they better not even mention a fuckin symbiote until later on (Sequels) .....Now Mysterio or Scorpion...yes

I think hes going to end up playing Norman Osborn(Green Goblin). And I'm actually thinking Jamie Bell is going to play Harry Osborn, they look like they could easily be related. Seems like hed play a better Harry than Peter anyways.
