Morgan Spurlock Wants Your Story for That Comic-Con Doc
Just last week, we finally heard some official details on a forthcoming documentary from director Morgan Spurlock and producers Joss Whedon, Stan Lee and Harry Knowles that will follow seven comic fans from around the world as they embark on their journey to the annual Comic-Con convention in San Diego this July. Comic-Con Episode Four: A Fan's Hope, as it will be titled, now has a request to the masses from Spurlock's own website looking for Comic-Con stories from fans just like you guys. So here's your big chance to get on the big screen and showcase your geeky, dorky and/or nerdy obsessions for the entire world to see.
Spurlock's call to action seems much more like an open casting call, and while there's a chance this could be an opportunity to become one of the seven subjects that he and his crew will follow leading up to Comic-Con in July, he may also just be looking for a wide spread of fans for talking heads bits in the doc. Here you go:
Are you headed to 2010 Comic-Con International in San Diego? Do you die for diehard fandom? Do you pine over Chris Pine, other Captain Kirks, or have firsthand knowledge of who is the ultimate Bruce Wayne? Is your Lost Ark a long lost collectible, an original edition comic book, a need to be the first in line at a sneak peak of Green Lantern, or to understand the ultimate and undeniable power of Akira?! Are you the original inspiration for comic book guy? Is your collection the biggest? Is your costume the best? Is your dream to propose to your girlfriend and give her the one ring to rule them all? Are you an artist who is showing off your work? A vendor showing off your amazing collection?
If you are any of these things, then we want to hear your story.
Oscar-nominated filmmaker Morgan Spurlock, producer Thomas Tull, comic book icon Stan Lee, writer/producer Joss Whedon, and film guru Harry Knowles have joined together to bring audiences the feature-length documentary "Comic-Con Episode Four: A Fan's Hope" – a documentary celebration of all things con-tastic!
We are looking to cast original, eccentric, funny, touching, and mildly obsessive people that will capture the excitement, enthusiasm, joy, and passion of comic book, anime, sci-fi, and fantasy lovers everywhere.
If Comic-Con International will be the highlight of your year and you have a story to share about your passion, let us know. Join the fellowship, take part in this epic documentary, and write us at ComicConDoc@gmail.com. Include your name, phone number, a picture, and tell us your story.
So there you have it. If you count yourself among the crazy fans that Spurlock is looking for, then you know what to do. And if any of you guys out there happen to get selected for the documentary, be sure to drop us a line about your experiences! You just may become a part of the news instead of reading it. In the meantime, join us in getting pumped for Comic-Con later this summer, as we've only got a few more months to go and it looks like this might be a great year. We'll be there in force with our entire staff, including Tim from The Golden Briefcase, so be on the lookout for the FS.net folks down in San Diego. Good luck and see you soon!

Should will be very entertaining. I've never been to Comic-Con (its far too largescale, lol I'd just feel lost) but I do love conventions.

Even as a fan, Comic-Con is one of the most overwhelming experiences you can have! the immense presence of comic influence just engulfs you long before you even make it to the convention doors!!! Then inside you start to notice real life characters walking around as well as just about ANY comic, video game, cartoon character etc! Im not a fan of dressing up, but after a few minutes (and one hot wonder woman) you realize just how bad ass the whole thing is! and then you see different storm troopers, fetts, etc walking around and you realize this is where you should have been most of your life! its allright..
