I have said time and time again that Fox Searchlight is one of my favorite studios in Hollywood. From the way they market and release their films, to the indies they acquire at festivals, there's just something about everything they do that I love. Searchlight was founded in 1995, making this year their 15th Anniversary. Our friends at SlashFilm recently found this spectacular 15 Years of Fox Searchlight montage video and it's a big must watch. "15 Years of Drama, Compassion, Icons, Romance and Challenges. Some of the best indie flicks came were brought to us by Fox Searchlight… Here's a quick recap of what they've brought us."
Head over to IMDb for a look at their full filmography and watch "15 Years of Fox Searchlight" below:
This was created by Kees van Dijkhuizen, who was commissioned by Fox Searchlight, and is responsible for many other great year-end montages. Some of the films featured include Juno, The Darjeeling Limited, Slumdog Millionaire, 28 Days Later, Sunshine, (500) Days of Summer, Napoleon Dynamite, The Last King of Scotland, Crazy Heart, Sexy Beast, One Hour Photo and Thirteen. I don't know how anyone with a heart can watch this and not be amazed at the quality of the content they both produce and distribute. They've got a fantastic year left, too, with Danny Boyle's 127 Hours and Darren Aronofsky's Black Swan both hitting in the next few months. Fox Searchlight, you are still the best, and congratulations on an incredible 15 years.
