Toy Story 3 Trailer

Disney has just debuted another new theatrical trailer for Pixar's Toy Story 3 today on MySpace. We've seen a teaser and a full trailer for this before, but it's always great to see new trailers, especially those with a lot of new footage for exciting upcoming Pixar movies. This trailer was released in conjunction with a new photo as well that features 14 new characters that will be seen in Toy Story 3. Anyway, it looks like there's a LOT more to the story that we didn't know - a wooden bridge over a canyon and a train and explosion? What is going on? Ah I'm so very excited to see this movie - can't wait till June. Check out the new trailer below!

Woody, Buzz, and the rest of their toy-box friends are all dumped in a day-care center after their owner, Andy, departs for college. Tom Hanks, Tim Allen, Joan Cusack, and John Ratzenberger will all be back.

Toy Story 3 is being directed by Lee Unkrich, another one of Pixar's creative masterminds who previously co-directed Toy Story 2, Monsters, Inc., and Finding Nemo. The screenplay was written by Michael Arndt, the Oscar winning screenwriter of Little Miss Sunshine who is a newcomer to the Pixar family. Disney will be bringing Pixar's Toy Story 3 to theaters everywhere in digital 3D starting on June 18th this summer.

Exceeded my expectations. Looks to be on par with the two first films, especially Toy Story 2. Can't wait to see it with my wife and kids in June.

Looks like I'm the voice of the other side at this point. I was super excited for TS3 until this trailer. Granted I'm still really excited, just not super excited. And let me be clear--I'm a huge Pixar fan. Like way big. But this trailer almost looks too goofy. It doesn't show signs of the deep storytelling Pixar's capable of. The character designs also seem more cartoony than before, which takes some of the magic away for me. I'm still hopeful, though.

@12 Pixar also has a way of making trailers that give you that "oh snap they finally dropped the ball" feeling. Cars, Wall-E, Monsters, Inc., Incredibles, and Up... each of those trailers had me thinking "this one isn't going to be good" but turned out to be at least a great movie, if not excellent. (Cars is probably the worst, but still better than most of what's out there.)

For all those worried about it being too juvenile and not up to the dramatic standard of Wall-E or Up... you are failing to see that the trailers are meant to sell the film to the biggest possible audience and the first people they need to rope in are the younger crowd. I thought the trailers for Up were terrible but it was a completely different film than its trailers would have led you to believe. Fear not. Have faith in Pixar.

#14 I gotta agree. When I see Pixar's trailers I always go "...oh man", but then it turns out to be a good film anyway. Some may be better than others, but they've never made a bad film.

uhhh #13 Pixar's movies ARE deep. they are not kids' movies. they are movies for adults that kids also will enjoy and love - because they respect adults and their intelligence and give kids what they need - a message of hope in sometimes harsh reality.

the 1st toy story = excellent, the 2nd toy story = excellent, what about the 3rd,well from the look of the trailer & if the final finished version of the film is as good as the two films before it,WE COULD BE LOOKING AT ONE OF THE BEST TRILOGY'S EVER.

#17, I totally agree with you, as does my wife. We don't even have kids yet, and we love to collect these movies. The action, acting, adventure, and animation are all so awesome in these movies, and my little five year old niece simply adores them. Pixar is so good with making films the WHOLE FAMILY can enjoy on some level. That being said, My wife and I can't wait for this one. We both enjoyed the first two Toy Story flicks, and this one looks just as good as at least the second one. (In my humble opinion, the first one will always be the best.)
