Must Watch: Filmography 2010 Celebrates This Year in Cinema
by Ethan Anderton
December 14, 2010
As the end of the year looms closer, it's time to look back at this year in cinema with the traditional montage of films from 2010. While retrospective videos from years past have been impressive, this one from YouTube user Genrocks (via The Daily What) might blow them all out of the water. Using clips from blockbusters like Iron Man 2 and Inception, great indies like Howl and Catfish, documentaries like Casino Jack and the United States of Money and Waiting for Superman and hundreds more, Filmography 2010 is phenomenally edited and really makes you want to watch all your favorite movies from 2010 all over again.
Filmography 2010 looks back at this past year in motion pictures:
What separates this video from the others is the seamless editing between visuals and dialogue as opposed to just finely tuned cuts to different music. Of course, the music creates a perfect tone in each of the themed segments that highlight action, love, spectacle and humor in one 6-minute package. If you're curious about the music used in the video, just check out the YouTube page. And if you're trying to figure out all 270 films included in this montage (which the creator says includes "anything that was either produced or distributed in 2010" by way of this Wikipedia entry) fortunately that's available right here. There will likely be more of these as the year winds down, but this is definitely a great one get things going as 2010 wraps up. Cool eh?

Nice work. It's fun to try and remember all the different movies by the bits and pieces that are displayed. Great editing and grouping of like elements. Keep it up.

Awesome work by GEN I. U R Movie is the BESt. 2010 did bring some GREAT movies, but only few were able to get listed as good movies. Some Big names were really disappointing. At last it was a great year watching those GREAT movies. Wishing everyone Merry Christmas and Happy New Year ...

Also, this makes me feel like I didn't watch near enough movies this year lol. I knew what every clip was from, but it seemed like I'd only actually seen like 1 outta every 10 clips.

Looks like a long, tough job. Good work. But what's Gandalf doing in there at 6:03 if this is all supposed to be just 2010?

@ Xerxex. Don't even try to play that one off as a joke. Just admit you got confused before you make yourself look like more of an ass.

Very well done. Kick-Ass & Inception are my golden winners of 2010, 2010 had all sort of great movies, 2011 sounds promising too.

@ Xerxex. Yeah but lying on the internet isn't. Everybody makes mistakes buddy just learn to admit them. I know you're afraid people are going to think less of you, but the truth is people will think even less of you if you lie to them about something, and believe me they know you're lying. There's no way anyone is ever going to think that's a joke especially with the Avatar comment you made. Everyone knows it's hip to bash Avatar on a movie forum so if you we're really shooting for a joke or sarcasm you probably would've complained about the lack of Avatar in the video instead of praising it. So you can keep playing what you said off like a joke, but everyone including yourself knows that's full of shit, or you can admit you fucked up. Just my two cents.

Complaining about the absence of Avatar AND justin bieber, now that's a joke right there! And Alex, could you please tell me if your sarcasm app is on so i can give you a proper responde? 😛

I was joking, Alex T...honest! Really Alex T. I thought we were friends and yet you call me out like this!? What gives!? My first sentence was the joke a play on the video...my second was the serious reply...sheesh what did I ever do to you to warrant a reaction like that? Its like we aren't friends...wait aren't we? I must be popular here...everyone seems concerned about my bad joke...I'm touched. joking...probably.
