Source Code Trailer

Now this you've got to take a look at! Summit Entertainment debuted on Apple the official trailer for Moon director Duncan Jones' second feature film, Source Code, starring Jake Gyllenhaal, Vera Farmiga, Michelle Monaghan. The film is based on a highly buzzed screenplay written by Ben Ripley that involves a twisty, time-travel filled, sci-fi-ish plot where Gyllenhaal wakes up as a guy traveling in a train, doesn't know who he is, talks to people who know who he is, then a few minutes later finds out there's a bomb that blows the train up. And that's just the half of it. The concept is neatly explained in this kick-ass first trailer!

A sci-fi story centered on a soldier who wakes up in the body of a person who witnesses a train explosion.

Source Code is directed by one of our very favorite up-and-coming British filmmakers, Duncan Jones, son of David Bowie whose feature debut was the brilliant sci-fi film Moon. The screenplay was written by TV writer Ben Ripley, making his feature debut, and was featured on the Black List a few years ago. Vendome Pictures and Mark Gordon produced. Summit Entertainment is bringing Source Code to theaters everywhere starting April 1st just before the summer kicks off. This is highly suggested viewing, it's a fascinating sci-fi thriller!

kure on Nov 19, 2010

Very deja- vu. And I don't think that movie did well. So...who know.

Micah on Nov 19, 2010

Looks really good.

NeoSLyfer on Nov 19, 2010

WOW! That's like Groundhog's Day X 1,000,000!!! Actually this looks promising. Love Michelle Monaghan when applied in proper doses and love Jeffrey Wright...looks good! Great VFX too!

LINKFX on Nov 19, 2010

"Inside the source code" ... Yeah, right. This sounds so stupid. And it looks like crap. BTW, Moon sucked. Totally boring. So this will be another movie to forget.

particle on Nov 19, 2010

Shut up!

jjboldt on Feb 4, 2011

damn. nice.. all i can say. really good trailer. and michelle monaghan. shit, even vera farmiga i'll take after seeing her ass in up in the air. lol

KING on Nov 19, 2010

What if Michelle's character is the one who bombed the train?

Abe on Nov 19, 2010

oh wow. great trailer! yay- new movie to look forward to.

cyn on Nov 19, 2010

Abe, my thoughts exactly. I loved Moon and Jones is my new favorite to keep an eye on. Can't wait!

Traveler on Nov 19, 2010

I'm so in on this!!

ekko90 on Nov 19, 2010

Woah, this looks good!

MikeL on Nov 19, 2010

Moon was awesome, so expect this to be too.

4k4k on Nov 19, 2010

McWilly on Nov 19, 2010

@2 Micah, yes it is very deja- vu/butterfly effect, especially about the ability to change the pass. I enjoyed Deja-Vu and butterfly effect and will be looking forward to seeing this.

Dave on Nov 19, 2010

the movie looks cool....but when i read the script i thought there was no good characters...and the trailer confirmed that to me...all the acting and the characters look very shallow

talli on Nov 19, 2010

Aw Abes, that's some M Night twist type shizzles! I hope it's not and thy get in the Hot Tub Time Machine and partaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay. Loks alright enough. Moon ruled, so I'd watch it based on that.

Crapola on Nov 19, 2010

Very cool! I'm there...

Lars on Nov 19, 2010

I'll go see this movie out of respect for Moon and Mr. Jones.

germs on Nov 19, 2010

So in the trailer one of the future agents tells Gyllenhals character that he can't change the past yet he is trying to find out who the bomber is and stop it or just see who the bomber is? Already showing flaws in the script.

Omar on Nov 19, 2010

@Omar: He cant change the past, but he's trying to stop the NEXT attention.

editor on Nov 19, 2010

and then he changes the past anyway...which makes no sense lol

talli on Nov 19, 2010

At last, a trailer for a decent movie. And Jeffrey Wright.

Bash on Nov 19, 2010

Duncan Jones did an amazing job with Moon and this looks quite good also. I like Gyllenhaal but it would have been awesome if Jones reunited with the brilliance that is Sam Rockwell.

CLAW on Nov 19, 2010

Moon was so damn good but this is an old concept. Star trek episodes, 12 monkeys, deja vu, butterfly effect, it's been done. But this guy making it is obviously talented, still looks watchable even though it's been done. Waiting for his third....

Big Zero on Nov 19, 2010

Dan W on Nov 19, 2010

seems like a different version of inception 😛 still looks good tho 😀

DaftPUNKFAN on Nov 19, 2010

@8 If that's the ending I'm totally going to find you and give you a gold medal. I promise I don't mean that in a creepy way, but that would be one of the best calls I've ever seen and I could totally see it happening.

Joe Ho on Nov 19, 2010

wow Im in

ocp on Nov 20, 2010

what abe said. shes the one who bombs the train, counting on him to save her life through all his shananigans to continue her job. boom, saved you guys 10$. your welcome. lawl, jk. this looks decent, will watch regardless.....regardless of what possible twists we all can think of.

lego on Nov 20, 2010

DoomCanoe on Nov 20, 2010

Damn, Vera looks great!

Typhoon on Nov 20, 2010

You can't go wrong with Jake Gyllenhaal!

Lincoln on Nov 20, 2010

didn't look too bad. interesting but old concept.

Eli on Nov 20, 2010

Ben Ripley, writer of Species 3 & 4? Well, the trailer looked okay but you won't mind if I don't get my hopes up too much.

Chris on Nov 20, 2010

Stypid title

casshern on Nov 20, 2010

Another Inception. Stupid plotline noone's (except fanboys of course) gonna believe for a second. Pity.. I loved Moon, but this looks too hollywoodish already.

Bender on Nov 20, 2010

I think it looks awesome. I love Moon.

Robbie on Nov 20, 2010

Simply, one of the best article l have come across on this precious subject. I quite agree with your suppositions and will eagerly look forward to your forthcoming updates.

If Tony Scott directed Twelve monkeys...

Louis on Nov 20, 2010

Oh wait.. Tony Scott did direct Twelve Monkeys, it's called "Deja Vu"

Louis on Nov 20, 2010

As I say on my blog this doesn't look as great as Moon, but it still looks good. I'm a bit worried we'll see the repeating 8 minutes too much but given the talent and script I still expect it to be a lot better then Deja Vu.

SpeakingGeek on Nov 20, 2010

"I'm asking you to have the decency to let me try." Finally something that's actually human, another film to look forward to next year!

Cruzer on Nov 20, 2010

The mirror scene reminded me of Quantum Leap 🙂

Nathaniel on Nov 20, 2010

this idea seems kind of stale................and of course, at a given point in the movie - he HAS to save the girl - didn't see that coming > (major sarcasm) unless it hits netflix instant-watch.......i'll pass

beavis on Nov 20, 2010

Did anybody else think this looked like a modern quantum leap when it first started i got flashbacks from the pilot and when he looks in the mirror.... i sighed massively... but then it picked up and flipped it somewhat. looks good

Gumshoepunk on Nov 20, 2010

Go Jones!!!! Looks so darn gooood!!

leinergroove on Nov 20, 2010

Im in! Looks awesome

memz on Nov 20, 2010

Yeah looks awesome Im sold

Cody w on Nov 20, 2010

This is exactly like a Supernatural episode where Sam wakes up and lives his Tuesday every single day, so he can find the source of his brother Deans death. It was a funny episode and one of the best. Source Code is a rip off of that but with more money and more action.

Harry on Nov 20, 2010

# 6 your a fucking idiot.

I have no name on Nov 20, 2010

# 52 your a fucking idiot as well because supernatural was not the first to come up with the concept nor was it the second or third. This has been done many times but this actually looks good unlike other movies or shows.

I have no name on Nov 20, 2010

#52 oh yeah i loved Groundhogs day!

DoomCanoe on Nov 20, 2010

Sorry to rain on your parade, KING (#7), but that was a body double for Vera Farmiga in Up in the Air.

looks good on Nov 21, 2010

Like the idea. (Being in the Chicago area I also love that they're using the Metra system.) But Source Code does NOT work as a title. Especially if you know anything about programming. (Which any 2nd grader can tell you these days.)

jasonmd2020 on Nov 22, 2010

Oh yeah. I'm also surprised no-one made a Timecop reference yet...

jasonmd2020 on Nov 22, 2010

I read this script a few months ago and I had to read it in one seating how awesome it was. From the trailer I see they change something in the script Michelle character doesn't know the guy on the train but they made as if there are friends or lovers. I really loved it in the script how they didn't know each other so in 8 minutes he had to basically gain her trust. Either way really looking to see this, if it's half as good as the script it would be great.

eru88 on Nov 22, 2010

Wow. This actually looks very interesting. No trolling required.

stnprkl on Nov 23, 2010

I wondering... if this didn't have the critical darling 'Duncan Jones' name attached, would you all be as impressed? This looks like Deja Vu meets Unstoppable - a Tony Scott tribute film with a rather underwhelming lead. I was hoping for much more from Zowie after the great potential he showed in aspects of Moon. Full judgment will obviously wait, but as it stands this has all but slid off my radar.

Bogart on Nov 28, 2010

Moon was amazing, and this doesn't look nearly as inane as Deja Vu. Has more of a 12 Monkeys feel to it.

Ragnarok on Dec 3, 2010

Reminds me of the old TV show "Seven Days" that aired from 1998-2001. Awesome show, pilot in an experimental program can be launched seven days into the past to complete his mission(s), whereupon he catches up with the present time.

wangchung on Dec 19, 2010

WTH....this is definitely a combo of Deja-Vu and The butterfly effect!

Ddlkfja on Feb 11, 2011

"seven days" was one of my favorite tv shows, but most peple I ask have never heard of it.I hope the source code movie can do as good of job with this concept as the tv show did over a decade ago.
