Blue Valentine Trailer

The Weinstein Company debuted the first official trailer on Yahoo for Derek Cianfrance's Blue Valentine starring Ryan Gosling and Michelle Williams. The film is a heart-wrenching emotional drama about a failing relationship between these two individuals. It was our big Sundance favorite (read Brandon's review or Alex's review) which we followed up with an interview with Derek Cianfrance. The MPAA just gave the film an NC-17 rating (via Deadline), which is absolute BS, but I'm sure TWC will try and appeal that before its release. This is an outstanding trailer, but watch out, the film isn't always that cheerful anyway. Enjoy.

Watch the first official trailer for Derek Cianfrance's Blue Valentine from YouTube:

The story of love found and love lost told using past and present moments in time. Flooded with romantic memories of their courtship, Dean and Cindy spend one last night together to save their failing marriage.

Blue Valentine is written and directed by up-and-coming filmmaker Derek Cianfrance, who studied film at the University of Colorado and has directed numerous shorts and docs. The script was officially co-written by Cianfrance, Joey Curtis and Cami Delavigne. This premiered at the Sundance Film Festival this year and was picked up by The Weinstein Company. Blue Valentine hits limited theaters starting December 31st.

Great trailer. I like the idea that it goes in depth with their relationships. It shows how they fell in love and how they come to a rather tragic end. It looks depressing too... really depressing.

I read somewhere that this has really intense love scenes, which is probably the reason for the NC-17 rating.

I really like Williams and Gosling. They are amazing actors and I will definitely see this. I better butch it up 'cause I have a feeling this one is going to wanna suck the tears from my eyes.

I saw this at TIFF and I can't for the life of me figure out why it got an NC17. It's definitely an R, but not NC17. Great film.
