Must Watch: Jason Statham in Official Trailer for 'The Mechanic'

A good mechanic is hard to find. As expected, after the debut of that gun-filled teaser poster yesterday, CBS Films has premiered the official trailer on MSN for Simon West's The Mechanic starring the always badass Jason Statham as yet another crafty, violent hitman. This is an action-packed modern remake of the 1972 Charles Bronson film and Arthur Bishop (Statham) eventually takes on an apprentice, played by Ben Foster. The plot is a bit more complex than that, but you get the idea. This doesn't look bad at all, but it doesn't look like much more than your standard hitman action flick, but I hope I'm wrong about that. Watch this below!
Watch the official theatrical trailer for Simon West's The Mechanic:
An action-thriller centered on an assassin (Jason Statham) and a young man who becomes an apprentice.
The Mechanic was directed by British filmmaker Simon West, of memorable blockbusters like Con Air, The General's Daughter, Lara Croft: Tomb Raider, and When a Stranger Calls. The screenplay was written by first-time feature writer Karl Gajdusek, whose only other writing credit is for the TV show "Dead Like Me". This is a remake of The Mechanic from 1972 starring Charles Bronson and directed by Michael Winner. The Mechanic was picked up by CBS Films and will arrive in theaters starting on January 28th early next year.

if this ends anything like the original, it won't be the "typical" hitman flick. Guess we'll see. I just hope they removed the wrist slitting part, that I recall seemed to take a good 30 minutes.

Trailer was too long; showed too much. Statham is nearly always entertaining to watch. I'll skip the DVD though and get the Blu-ray 😉
