Must Watch: Official Trailer for Woody Harrelson's 'Defendor' Comedy

A new official trailer for the release of Peter Stebbings' comedy Defendor starring Woody Harrelson and Kat Dennings has debuted on Trailer Addict. We originally featured an early trailer for this wacky superhero comedy last September before its premiere in Toronto, but this new trailer is a better representation of what to expect from the movie. Yes, the cinematic marketplace is getting a bit saturated with superhero comedies (like Kick-Ass) but this is one that I suggest seeing because Woody Harrelson gives a great performance and because it is mildly entertaining. It's not that bad, but it's not really that amazing either. Watch and enjoy.
Watch the first official trailer for Peter Stebbings' Defendor from YouTube:
If you miss the opportunity to see Defendor in theaters, it arrives on DVD on April 30
Reality intersects with delusion in the mind of Arthur Poppington, a regular man who adopts a superhero persona known as Defendor, and combs the streets at night in search of his arch-enemy, Captain Industry.
Defendor is both written and directed by Canadian actor-turned-filmmaker Peter Stebbings, who is making his directorial debut with this film. This first premiered at the Toronto Film Festival last year (you can watch my video review of the film here). It's being distributed in Canada by Alliance Films and in the US by Darius Films. Defendor will hit very limited theaters starting February 26th, 2010 before out on DVD.

I think you're right, looks funny but not GREAT. Feel like I'd appreciate it more seeing it at a film fest, rather than paying $12 just for that movie. Looks funny though.

Woody is enough for me to see this in theaters, Elias Koteas makes it a for sure thing.

Saw it last Autumn. Pretty good all around, Woody was in attendance and did a bit of Q&A. Good way to spend an afternoon, at the very least!

I'd see this in the theater. Woody Harrelson cracks me up in this trailer with a perfect balance of comedy and drama. "What's that? A jar. What's it supposed to do? Very little. Except contain a swarm of angry wasps."

I'm not sure this is a "Must Watch" trailer. Reminds me of Bad Ass, only it doesn't look nearly as funny.

I laughed a couple times, pretty good clean humor and Harrelsons delivery just cracks me up everytime. Koteas cracked me up even more in the trailer though. Dont know if Id see it in theaters though looks like a netflix.

I like woody Haroldson, there looks like there is a few good gags. But it sounds like it will get annoying after a while and the Defender film it self will just fade to nothing.

Love the Rorchach copy cat cinematography in the beginning, almost the exact same angle LOL, it's a really nice touch, although I may just be looking in too much 🙂 (the part where he is on the rooftop and moon is behind him, it an almost an exact replica of Rorshach's scene minus the rain)

Looks pretty funny! I agree with many people above, something that I would definitely rent from Netflixs, but wouldn't rush out to see it in the theater.

I lol'd at this quite a bit more than normal... i think its randomness looks hilarious. I agree though, its not really worth seeing at a cinema, since its not like it's effects based.

Looks like it could be either really funny or sadly depressing... I will rent it.

An in-depth MOVIE REVIEW of DEFENDOR: http://film-book.com/film-review-defendor/

This movie has already been released under a different name. It's called "Special". Pretty sneaky, to try and re-release it as "Defendor". Thought you all would want to know. Kinda sucked actually, some parts are funny, but not that great of a movie. Reminds me of a low budget film. 🙁
