No more than four weeks after the first official trailer for Vincenzo Natali's Splice arrived online, Warner Bros has debuted another brand new trailer today on MySpace. This new version has a genetic engineering gone wrong spin to it, more so than the other one, but still has all the awesome horror elements of the first one. I like this trailer a lot more because it progresses the same way as the storyline in the movie does and it gives you a good idea of where this goes and how creepy it gets in the later half (with each of the days). If you aren't sold on seeing Splice after watching this trailer, then this movie definitely isn't for you. Enjoy!

Elsa and Clive, two young rebellious scientists, defy legal and ethical boundaries and forge ahead with a dangerous experiment: splicing together human and animal DNA to create a dangerous new organism.
Splice is both written and directed by filmmaker Vincenzo Natali, of cult sci-fi hit Cube as well as Cypher. The screenplay was also co-written by two newcomers Antoinette Terry Bryant and Doug Taylor as well as Natali. This first premiered at the Sundance Film Festival this year and was bought by Joel Silver's Dark Castle Entertainment. Therefore, Warner Bros is bringing Splice to theaters, in wide release, starting on June 4th this summer. I had a feeling this would turn out to be a hit and it definitely looks like it will be!

I can't wait to see this movie. But I cannot help but draw similarities to Chris Cunningham's Playstation 2 commercial about the human endeavour.

I just watched Cypher and Cube again in anticipation of this...glad Natali is finally getting his due praise because the man is a sci fi genius.

Every time I see/read something about this movie, I think it's a new Cronenberg movie... if that isn't high praise, I don't know what is. Can't wait to see this... right up my alley.

Okay am I a little weird, or was the "creature" a little on the sexy side? I'm feeling a bit odd about this.

This has a great Michael Crichton "Next" vibe to it. I'm very much looking forward to the wide release of this film.

Saw this at a movie festival here in the UK. I actually didnt know Guillermo del Toro was an Executive Producer for this until it was kinda announced. At that moment my expectations shut through the roof. In short, I'll grade the movie B-.

This looks phenomenal. Does anyone who's seen it think it's an Oscar Worthy film?

OMG!!! This is definitely winning an Oscar for best picture!!! OMG. I just started watching movies a couple years ago and this is the most frightening thing I've ever seen! It's almost illeagally scary. I hope my mom will sit with me and hold my hand while I watch this.

For everyone thinking this is going to be the greatest thing since sliced bread figured I'd throw my two cents in. I've never really been a fan of the Horror Genre to begin with but this movie looks like it's pushing the boundaries. In a good way mind you. However while it's an original esque idea it will follow suit with horror films now a days with the "play creeping music that eventually builds until something doesn't happen and as soon as the music stops and you think all is well, boom dead thing." It's a shame there really isn't a new formula for horror films and they all follow suit or at least 75% of them follow that pattern. In regards to the trailer, yes spooky spooky but I heard the line "What is that...." then Brody with "A mistake." if the film has dialogue like that, you can forget it being anything but just another horror film. Finally for everyone saying "Oscar Worthy" the Academy does not recognize comedies/horror films. In fact it is so rare that I believe only a few have been nominated in all of cinema history, and while they have won, this won't bring anything to the table for an Oscar nomination, it just doesn't meet the bill that they have set. Not to bash the film, but I have no intention of seeing this and would rather see something that will entertain me rather then just pump me full of adrenaline and have me jumping out of my seat because of the monster jumping out.

I think that this is a refreshing horror/sci-fi movie that doesn't fall into the mindless muddle of horror movies in the past few years with all the slasher remakes, zombie and vampire films. The first Saw film, Sunshine and Pandorum kinda stand out with me as I'm sure this one will as well.

I wasn't completely sold until this trailer. And as much as I feel I can now predict the end, I'm more interested in the ideas and conflicts it presents than just the plot line. That and it looks thoroughly creepy, which is awesome.

Looks pretty good, a definite thriller. Adrien Brody is great on these sci-fi thrillers, like The Jacket.

I am fond of the actors involved, and will probably enjoy the film. I do think that the trailer showed a little too much of them getting undoubtedly f-d up by the creature, and pretty much told the story- up to the end...in the trailer.
