Must Watch: Teaser Trailer for Adam McKay's The Other Guys

After giving us a glimpse of the kind of comedy we'll see in this via a motion poster a few weeks back, Sony has finally debuted the first teaser trailer (that runs a full 2-1/2 minutes) for The Other Guys starring Will Ferrell and Mark Wahlberg as a pair of misfit cops. The best part about this (besides Ferrell and Wahlberg being a hilarious comedic duo) is seeing Sam Jackson and Dwayne Johnson play the real badass cops in this. I know action comedies are the new trend (MacGruber, Knight & Day) but this is the one comedy that I am truly looking forward to seeing this summer. Nice jab at the end towards Hollywood, too. Have fun & enjoy!

The Other Guys is an action comedy directed by Adam McKay (of Anchorman, Talladega Nights) who also wrote the script with Chris Henchy (Land of the Lost) following the seemingly mismatched pairing of Will Ferrell and Mark Wahlberg as police officers who can't see to measure up to the legendary law enforcement status achieved by the police department's two all-star cops, played by Sam Jackson and Dwayne Johnson. I really do love the way Ferrell and Wahlberg play off of each other and I'm still pretty damn excited for this. Sony is bringing The Other Guys to theaters on August 6th this summer. Planning on seeing it in theaters?

I'm watching this solely on the fact that a character played by Mark Frikkin Wahlberg does ballet moves. I've never seen him in a full on comedic role before I think that will be genius. And the bad cop bad cop scene was hilaaaaarious

I don't know, it didnt look all that fun the me. I only "smiled" ate the GTA and bad cop-bad cop parts. And the scene with the bus at the beggining looked way off for some reason, badly executed, it looks like the bus was just there waiting to be hit (i know this is not a "real" action movie, but heh)

Impressed by the cast, except for Will Ferrell, but this still looks pretty awful to me. Probly due in large part to the fact that I just can't stand Ferrell and his mental retardation.

Coming from someone who loves Adam McKay flicks, this doesn't look on par with his other ventures. Its just a different style. The formula for his movies are supposed to be Will Ferrell and friend (this time Marky Mark) sharing brilliantly mindless dialog with others. This just didn't feel like that to me.

Anybody watch the office? The guy jumping from the building looks exactly like David Wallace in the office. Weird.

As most be people here have said it looks pretty damn funny and I deffentially want to see it. But it is seriously the almost too perfect casting of TR and SLJ as a unstoppable badass cop duo that has me excited for this movie the most. Of course I really like Wahlberg aswell, but he hasn't had a great role since The Departed. I hope this is a strong turn for him.

#12...the little music that plays in the background sounds like "Ridin' Dirty" (don't even know why I know that) but the one that has the singing is "Been Caught Stealin" by Jane's Addiction

I notice #27 said that he would wait for the red band trailer. So, that means that this movie will be rated R? I sure hope so, because it looks really funny and by being rated R would be better. 🙂

I think i shall watch this for defo, the trailer had me sniggering from the start which is good because alot of comedys these days just aint funny actually there is FUCK ALL funny about comedys these days if ya know what i mean! anyhoo Step Brothers was a decent comedy and one that had me constantly chuckling so giving the fact that Mr.Ferrell is in another film by the same director who had me giggling you can count me in, fingers crossed.

Xerxex = your credibility is sound still! This looks like a good time I say! Wahlberg with his deadpan acting (or lack of it) has always made me laugh (....mmmm, even in his serious movies per se) Dwayne and Samuel looks funny too. An come on, give Will a chance people ...... His comedic style is an acquired taste. DTM

The wooden gun scene was the best. Looks real fuckin' funny, and it has a great cast as well. The last scene in the trailer about the explosions was pretty damn funny too!! This looks like a better version of "Cop Out". Notify me when the red band trailer comes out.

I hope this is better than Step Brothers. I was really dissapointed in that film; it was good, but not as good as I was expecting. Hopefully Will Ferrel will join Judd Apatow and Seth Rogen back on top of the comedy mountain when this movie comes out after the two epic failures of "Land of the Lost" and "The Goods: Live Hard Sell Hard." Those movies were hard to watch. Again Alex, notify us when the red band trailer comes out.

To those of you expecting a red band trailer, I wouldn't get your hopes up. Will Ferrell said in an interview that they were going for a PG-13 rating.

OMG!!! That is fuckin' too funny!!! When Will popped Walberg in the face I laughed out loud. I don't know why but I really really like Will Ferrell and I'm probably the only person on the planet that loved Land Of The Lost. Walberg, Jackson and Johnson not to mention it's nice to see Keaton do comedy again. I will definitely see this!

I don't typically care for any movies starring Will Ferrell (except "Stranger Than Fiction") or Mark Wahlberg - in fact, they are two of my least favorite actors. Yet, something about this movie has me pretty excited about it. The supporting cast is full of greatness, and I loved that line, "I'll talk to you, you're reasonable!"

I am ashamed that I laughed as much as I did. I'll give this a go. Solid cast and the action looks pretty decent too. The motion poster was just plain awesome too, so I'm even digging the marketing.
