Harry Brown Red Band Trailer

Now this is a trailer you'll definitely want to see. Harry Brown is the new British film that's sort of like Taken but with Michael Caine (Alfred!) instead of Liam Neeson. We ran a trailer for it last year but this one is now an official trailer from IGN and it's red band, too. If you're wondering why it's red band, I think it's because of the violence and the marijuana seen growing in the background in a few scenes. Other than that, there's probably not much else that makes this R-rated anyway. I love the build-up in this trailer, so intense, so awesome, I can't frickin' wait to see it! Who's with me on this one? Am I the only one excited?

Watch the official red band trailer for Daniel Barber's Harry Brown:

An ex-Marine (Michael Caine) looks to avenge his friend's murder by doling out his own form of justice.

Harry Brown is directed by British filmmaker Daniel Barber, of only the Oscar nominated short The Tonto Woman previously. The original screenplay was written by Gary Young, of British films Shooters, The Last Drop, and The Tournament previously. In addition to Michael Caine, this also stars Emily Mortimer, Liam Cunningham, and a number of other up-and-coming British actors. The film first premiered at the Toronto International Film Festival last year to fairly positive reviews all around. The Samuel Goldwyn Company is bringing Harry Brown to limited US theaters starting on April 30th this spring. Looks pretty good, right?

movie mike on Mar 5, 2010

kinda looks like what edge of darkness should have been

movie mike on Mar 5, 2010

Saw this is London. Michael Caine channels his Get Carter days here.

Alf on Mar 5, 2010

Saw this..just such a badass movie, Caine shows he is just the best in the business. Btw #5 Edge of darkness was exactly what it shouldve been the trailers made it look like something it wasnt.

Cody on Mar 5, 2010

GET 'EM Caine!

The Man With No Name on Mar 5, 2010

sort of like Taken??.....Well I don't see any connection.

DiR3cT on Mar 5, 2010

This movie was cool, Caine is always great

Loser on Mar 5, 2010

It's a pretty decent film, although I think this trailer shows way too much. Luckily the violence is slightly cartoony, I think it would be really grim if it wasn't.

Crapola on Mar 5, 2010

Wouldnt call the violence cartoony just a little too CGI-ish.

Cody on Mar 5, 2010

Kinda reminds me of Death Wish meets The Equalizer.

Brett on Mar 5, 2010

Watched the movie last night. It was nice but dont expect something like a bourne movie.

Nithin on Mar 5, 2010

Michael Caine gets better with age! this looks absolutely amazing. I love "Death Wish" style movies.

Colt on Mar 6, 2010

movie is nothing like taken but its good

kindbuddy on Mar 6, 2010

Yes it is R-rated for a reason, you will have a taste of that in the opening scenes...loll! Well filmed too especially for a 1st time director! Not really like Taken. come on guys, there are no comparisons! Both are standalone great movies with different plots

bliss on Mar 6, 2010

I'm not really excited for this. Maybe it's because the setting is too English, and I personally don't like that.

Robbie on Mar 6, 2010

Like "Gran Torino" but with killings.

var2apo on Mar 6, 2010

Seriously, I really hate it when this happens. This movie has been out in the UK for some time and was released on dvd on monday. Why can't we learn to get movies out at the same time. P.S. Is solomon Kane out in the US yet?

Link1983 on Mar 6, 2010

looks awesome.......and with michael caine? even better! i a definite watch.

beavis on Mar 6, 2010

saw this at the cinema in England, literally Brilliant, completely different feel to it than Taken but equally great. can't recommend this enough. check out the main soundtrack tune by Plan B,, he's also in the film ๐Ÿ™‚

Alex on Mar 6, 2010

Is Olivia Munns will be playing the Scarlet Witch in โ€œIron Man 2โ€?? Look at this news on Mar 6, 2010

I can't beleive so many people here who have seen this film liked it, I thought it was horrible. It's so over the top. It tries so hard to be gritty and real that it becomes fantasy, anyone who's ever lived in the UK no there are some bad places but no where where armed kids drive around shooting at babies.

Chris on Mar 6, 2010

This film looks so good! I love Michael Caine, and it seems he is playing a character that is quite different than what we are used to seeing. Can't wait to check it out!

One Source Talent on Mar 6, 2010

Firstly, this movie is pretty damn good. It's fairly similar to Death Wish and Gran Torino. #14 Why would anyone expect this to be like the Bourne series? #18 You don't like the English setting? So, every film should be set in the glorious USA, should it?! #23 Anyone who's lived in the UK may recall the murders of Jamie Bulger, Rhys Jones and other high profile murders of pre-teens recently. Let alone all the airgun and knife victims. Giving the "fantasy" of this film a link to real life in the UK.

John on Mar 6, 2010

this movie is gonna be bad......BADASS!!!

cesking on Mar 6, 2010

I thought more Gran Torino than Taken from these trailers, but it does look great. I mean, GREAT. I'll try and see it in theaters if it gets a wide release. Anyone know if it's getting a wide release?

Syphous on Mar 6, 2010

I saw this the other day, its more like Gran Torino but without the buddy of the gang thing. great movie i liked it,

TheLOLrapist on Mar 6, 2010

The reason he says its like Taken is because its along the lines of the taking matters into your own hands genre: Taken(Liam Neeson) Death sentence (Kevin Bacon) Edge of Darkness (Mel Gibson) except with more political intrigue and conspiracies. And then this I dont know why any of you think this resembles Gran torino in the slightest, that was more of a young-old buddy movie more than any revenge flick.

Cody on Mar 6, 2010

29- I think of Gran Torino because it's about and older gentleman looking at this generation and wondering what the f is wrong with it and doing something about it.

Syphous on Mar 6, 2010

saw it. was pretty good

DoomCanoe on Mar 6, 2010

Looks good.... But what was so "Red Band" about it????

Hyper on Mar 6, 2010

I wouldn't compare this to Taken because Neeson was a trained killer while Caine is just an old guy with nothing to lose and vengeance on the mind. I've seen it and it's a good film, but no where near as good as Taken in my opinion but I love Michael Caine. The scene in the grow house is phenomenal though. One of the most suspenseful I've seen in a long time; it reminded me of something Tarantino would come up with.

peloquin on Mar 6, 2010

saw this back in november when it came out in scotland and rest of uk, fantastic movie Michael Caine is always at his best when he has to play violent, yeah the taken part is only a person taken things into there own hands. Very dark, violent but also sad story, I didnt realise the movie wasnt out yet in USA, and thats a big surpirse uk getting a movie before usa usually the other way round or at least same day

thepeoplesmovies on Mar 6, 2010

"you have failed to maintain your weapon sir" awesome.

Dan on Mar 6, 2010

He's friends with the goddamn Batman!! I saw this last year. It's bloody fantastic! Everyone should check this film out.

Shad on Mar 6, 2010

for the americans, this is a pretty good glimpse into life in the poor areas of england where the young "thug" wannabees rule the streets by way of mindless violence just for the fun of it. I thought the opening scene was pretty shocking when I first saw it, but then I realised that it's something that probably happens quite a lot given the state of things in the uk these days. Lucky for me I don't live anywhere like this!

paulitos-way on Mar 7, 2010

@32 oh yes, it was good. I have seen it multiple times already. Harry Brown MOVIE REVIEW

Film-Book dot Com on Mar 7, 2010

is a great flick, caine is awesome #34" I wouldn't compare this to Taken because Neeson was a trained killer while Caine is just an old guy with nothing to lose and vengeance on the mind" well not true as he has a past of some sort of killer in the british army as his friend tries to get him to help but he states he has left all that behind him loved it and watching it gave me the same feeling as when i watched Eden Lake.. some of the youth of today in the uk is out of control and you really shouldnt be careful out there and how you react to "chavs"

buddyboy on Mar 10, 2010

edit *should be careful

buddyboy on Mar 10, 2010

Michael Caine is known for more important films than his role as Alfred in Batman. Why don't you tell people that! Oh, that's right! You're on the last train to Choadville...

Spike Murdock, Poet-at-Large on Mar 22, 2010

This film is absolutely incredible, one of the best I've seen in a long while. I live in the UK, and to the guy that said this is fantasy, I can assure you it isn't. The film was shot on Haygate estate in Elephant and Castle in central London. This place is now being slowly closed down and demolished due to the awful behaviour of some of the people and youths living there, and the terrible living conditions. That's also why quite a few British films are being shot the at the moment. Just a bit of background info for you there. 5* film, you won't regret seeing it.
