The Last Airbender

With only two weeks left until Shyamalan's The Last Airbender hits theaters, Paramount's marketing is going through the roof. A whole bunch of TV spots have been hitting pretty much everywhere you look. I've included two must watch TV spots below that just look fantastic and there's another that you can check out here. Besides that, SlashFilm found four "Explore the Nation" videos of which I've featured two of, for the Fire Nation and the Air Temple, below. The nation videos are pretty bland, just CGI fly-throughs, but if you want to see the rest you can here. There's a lot of awesome Last Airbender content out right now, so enjoy!

The Last Airbender is directed by M. Night Shyamalan, of The Sixth Sense, Unbreakable, Signs, The Village, Lady in the Water, and The Happening previously. The screenplay was also written by M. Night Shyamalan while the story was co-written by Shyamalan and creators Bryan Konietzko and Michael Dante DiMartino. This is based on the popular Nickelodeon cartoon series Avatar: The Last Airbender that originally aired in 2005. Paramount is bringing The Last Airbender to theaters everywhere starting on July 2nd this summer.

#1, don't worry ,momo is in! 🙂 . He is a comic relief and you will see it in time #2: Well already answered above and he is important Well to all the haters...this looks good and can't wait! It's very faithful to the animated series and he flight on Appa looks cool too Disappointed in the face of Appa...come on ...black! hmmmm he looks like a big yeti instead of a proper flying bison. Anyway the other details are fine by me. his noise is almost right Another smash for Night Shyamalan! As I said be4, whatever Hary potter did for magic, this will do for Hinduism and Buddhism

This supposed "epic" is only 90 minutes long and is getting converted to 3-D. I hope it fails.

is there such a thing as overmarketing?

@10 graffiti bandit The film's actually going to be 2 hours, the reviewers who saw the film happened to leave out the fact that they were told that they weren't going to be shown at least 30 minutes of the movie. The conversion happens to be taking place due to how well it looks and not as a gimmick. M. Night and Frank Marshall (the producer) weren't even going to go that route until they were shown how great the way the movie was filmed lent itself to a great conversion process.

"This movie is 103 minutes." Yup. Including credits. And Dresden, 3-D is nothing but a gimmick, not get it confused.

@14 You don't HAVE to watch in 3D. Also a short-er movie equals bad? 😐
