Lovely, Still Trailer

I'm a sucker for these kinds of charming, indie romantic dramas. I just can't help it. But it especially gets me when the cast is lead by two phenomenal classic (Oscar winning) actors such as Martin Landau and Ellen Burstyn, who look like they deliver truly wonderful performances in this. Yahoo has debuted a trailer for an indie film called Lovely, Still that I'm sure you probably haven't heard about before. It stars Landau as an elderly chap discovering love for the first time with Burstyn. Adam Scott and Elizabeth Banks are in it, too. This just looks like one of those truly heartwarming films. It's not for everyone, but really I want to see this.

A holiday fable telling the story of an elderly man (Martin Landau) discovering love for his very first time.

Lovely, Still was both written and directed by first-time feature filmmaker Nicholas Fackler, a 24-year-old up-and-coming filmmaker from Nebraska (read his blog). This first premiered at the Toronto International Film Festival back in 2008 and also played at the Milwaukee and Chicago Film Festivals. Monterey Media is finally bringing Lovely, Still to limited theaters starting on September 10th next month. This looks great!

#1 - i understand they're your favorites right now; but, Martin Landau and Ellen Burstyn look to be the showstoppers in this one. this looks wonderful and very poignant. landau and burstyn look brilliant with scott and banks doing well in supporting roles. a must-see on opening night. this makes yesterdays "how do you know" look like garbage.

I teared up watching that. I'm totally punching the first old person I see when I leave my house today to reset the balance.

Crapola on Aug 13, 2010

i LOL at "resetting the balance"

I punched one for ya just now at work, you're officially reset. I even told 'em it's because Crapola cried and he just stared at me then hit me back. Looks heartfelt, will give it a rent when i'm feeling emotional. 😛

wow I could've sworn Martin Landau was dead. I met him at the supermarket several years ago and it looked like he was going to kick the bucket then...he's also super gay. That being said, loved him in X-Files.

Adam Scott & Elizabeth Banks are the future. The title sounds like a silly perfume, but the trailer was excellent.

What if I were to tell you that there is a film coming out that could get Martin Landau an Oscar? ...Now is that something you might be interested in?

I loved the movie "Lovely Still" But I felt the writers and directors sort of deceived the audience with the surprising twist at the end of the movie. When it came to the ending, I would like to of seen more. I hated to see the movie end so abruptly.
