The Killer Inside Me Trailer

Whoa. IFC Films has debuted this official trailer (via The Playlist) for Michael Winterbottom's The Killer Inside Me, which stars Casey Affleck as deputy sheriff Lou Ford as well as Jessica Alba, Ned Beatty, Elias Koteas, Simon Baker, Kate Hudson, and Bill Pullman. We previously featured an extended promo trailer for The Killer Inside Me back in November before all the buzz really started up at Sundance. This is the film where Affleck plays a sociopathic murderer who covers up his tracks the best he can as a sheriff. Some folks loved it, others hated it, so check out the new trailer at least and let us know if you're interested in it, too.

Watch the official trailer for Michael Winterbottom's The Killer Inside Me from YouTube:

Sheriff Lou Ford (Casey Affleck) has a lot of problems. Woman problems. Law enforcement problems. An ever-growing pile of murder victims in his West Texas jurisdiction. And that he's a sadist, a psychopath, a killer. Suspicion soon begins to fall on Lou, and it's only a matter of time before he runs out of more alibis.

The Killer Inside Me is directed by British filmmaker Michael Winterbottom, of Butterfly Kiss, Wonderland, The Claim, 24 Hour Party People, Tristram Shandy: A Cock and Bull Story, The Road to Guantanamo, and A Mighty Heart. The script was written by filmmaker John Curran and is an adaptation of Jim Thompson's novel. IFC Films will be bringing The Killer Inside Me to VOD and limited theaters starting on June 18th.

I've heard on several podcasts that this movie is fuckin' brutal. One said Jessica Alba left the premier, because she couldn't handle seeing what happened to her on screen. Will probably check this one out, looks good.

Ah loves me some murder, especially motiveless remorseless murder. Looks like cinematic gold. Really enjoying stuff like that is pretty fucking morbid. But hey we live in a morbid world. ayhahahah

The only film I've seen from Winterbottom is The Road to Guantanamo, but that was really fantastic so I'll definitely be checking this out.

I saw the red band trailer and after seeing what happened to Jessica Alba, I seriously felt like calling the police - it was VERY brutal.....but I guess that's the point.

Natalie Portman and Sienna Miller were considered for the role of Amy Stanton, as well as Anne Hathaway for the role of Joyce Lakeland. Tom Cruise was considered at first for the role of Lou Ford.

I read that Tarantino wanted to direct this years ago. Don't know what the development of it was then or what was going on.
