Universal has debuted a badass behind-the-scenes featurette for Green Zone starring Matt Damon and directed by Paul Greengrass. We've all seen the first trailer and yes it looks a lot like Bourne. Greengrass even explains early on that they wanted this to contain most of the elements of the Bourne movies (except it's set in Iraq instead, I guess). This is actually a great featurette because it talks a lot more about the story which is what we got so little of in those early trailers. It looks really intense and packed with all kinds of action, which is exactly what I'm looking forward to seeing. Looks like it could be pretty awesome. Enjoy!

About a pair of CIA agents (Matt Damon and Greg Kinnear) on the trail of Weapons of Mass Destruction and a foreign correspondent following their mission. Inspired by "Imperial Life in the Emerald City."
Green Zone is directed by Paul Greengass of Bourne Supremacy and Ultimatum as well as Bloody Sunday and United 93. The script was written by Brian Helgeland, of L.A. Confidential, Conspiracy Theory, Mystic River, and Man on Fire previously. This is loosely based on Rajiv Chandrasekaran's non-fiction book The Imperial Life in Emerald City. Universal will be bringing Green Zone to theaters on March 12th, 2010.

Nah, it's more like someone else hoping to cash in on The Hurt Locker fame.

How many films are needed before they end this fucking war? No wait, there is oil there, the war is never going to end. Call it a war but it is more a slaughter..

While this does look pretty cool, it also seems like pretty well-worn territory. In fairness, I don't know the exact story. When I see a rogue agent running around telling his superiors "I know what you did" and then being told "you have no idea who you're dealing with" and stuff like "this thing is bigger than you", it feels like I've seen it before. In particular, it reminds me a lot of Body of Lies.

#3 Go to your political blogs....No one wants to see banter like that MOVIE news site. Not to mention all the potential arguements you start on an off topic subject on threads like these. As for this lets just hope Greengrass didnt decide to start shaking the camera as much as possible when the action starts.

Even in this short "behind-the-scenes" the shaking gave me a headache.

This is a real badass featurette Matt Damon is Bourne in Iraq. Paul Greengrass give a good explanation of the film why ever paramount gave greengrass the sack from the next Bourne film they will regret at their expense. Green Zone looks like it full of action worth awatch. I shall be there.

ah Kali, why on FS.net? I mean this is not a ploitical forum and if you knew anything about the past with the Middle East we are never leaving. This looks like a pretty good action thriller.

Will this be another anti-war movie?

This movie is going to have heavy political opinion all throughout... bleh. On another note - does anyone remember the vomit inducing shaky footage during the action shots in the 2nd Bourne movie... OMG!

Nate I think the 3rd one was worse in shakey cam, but I didn't suffer through as much as other people. But shakey cam is annoying after while, like in a office building situation...no need for the camera to shake, but in the 3rd Bourne movie it shook in every scene.
