Rashida Jones, Zooey Deschanel & More Join 'My Idiot Brother'

After hearing last week that the always hilarious Paul Rudd had signed on to star in the indie comedy My Idiot Brother, the story of an idealist dealing with his overbearing mother who crashes into the homes of his three ambitious sisters, we now have word on casting for the trio of siblings who'll star with Rudd. THR reports Elizabeth Banks, Zooey Deschanel and Emily Mortimer will play the three sisters who find the idiot brother inadvertently bringing truth, happiness and a sunny disposition into their lives along with some craziness. Rashida Jones has also been cast as Deschanel's girlfriend. Nope, you're not dreaming.
Banks plays a career-driven single about to get her break in journalism after spending years writing about accessories at a fashion magazine; Deschanel plays a bisexual whose flakiness and lies are getting in the way of moving forward with her caring, responsible girlfriend (Jones); and finally Mortimer plays a mother too worried about having the perfect life and children to notice that her marriage is falling apart. Jesse Peretz ("Important Things with Demetri Martin") is directing from a script written by his sister Evgenia Peretz and David Schisgall. This sounds like a great indie comedy to look forward to that is combining Rudd's comedic stylings and a quartet of truly lovely ladies (see photo above). Anyone else like the sound of this cast?

somehow you managed to pick pictures of the actresses that make them look like the ugliest humans alive even zooey deschanel, who is THE most beautiful woman alive, looks like a freakin moron in that picture

Banks and Rashida look perfectly line. Zoey looks a bit off but cute. And mannnnnnn, that is a horrendous picture of Emily Mortimer. Wow.

throw a bunch of hotties and you got yourself a film... bout the pictures, only zooey looks good. the other three... meh. especially the girl on the far left, she's much better looking!

I could not be more excited for this! Paul Rudd is phenomenal (if you disagree, watch Paul Rudd's computer from Tim & Eric on YouTube) and then add a few babes (Rashida Jones, Elizabeth Banks, Zooey Deschanel) who are actually solid actors? Done deal. Can't wait.

"quartet of truly lovely ladies" WTF - are you from the distant past or what? Are their only qualities that they look good? Worse yet, most of the above comments seem only to pass judgement on how good looking they are not whether or not they can act. Most of the posts come off like they are written by sexually anxious teenage boys (... oh wait, maybe they are)
