The Tourist

We've updated our release schedule (2010 and 2011) and I wanted to let you guys know about some of the changes. Sony officially scheduled The Lives of Others director Florian Henckel von Donnersmarck's remake of French spy thriller Anthony Zimmer, re-titled The Tourist, co-starring Johnny Depp and Angelina Jolie, for release on December 10th this year. That's coming quick and we haven't seen much for it besides that photo above. Also, Focus Features' It's Kind of a Funny Story with Keir Gilchrist, Zach Galifianakis, Emma Roberts moved from September to October 8th, which is a crowded weekend, but it'll be a limited opening.

As for changes and updates in 2011, Sony also officially scheduled 2012 director Roland Emmerich's period piece about William Shakespeare titled Anonymous (more info on it here) for release March 25th, 2011 up against Sucker Punch. I think I know which one I'll be watching on that day. Additionally, Screem Gems scheduled Will Gluck's ensemble romantic comedy Friends with Benefits, starring Justin Timberlake & Mila Kunis, for release right smack in the middle of next summer on July 22nd, 2011 - which is the same day that Marvel's Captain America arrives. Lastly, Screem Gems pushed Underworld 4 (in 3D, of course) from September 2011 all the way until January 20th, 2012, but I don't think anyone really cares about it.

Lastly, for those who have been wondering, our Google Calendar (which was very out-of-date for a while, our apologies) has been fully updated through December 2010/January 2011 and will be updated further as the year continues. However, it is usable and you can subscribe to that calendar for listings of major releases every weekend. As always, you can find the most up-to-date release details inside our own release schedule!

I am looking forward to "The Tourist"! Florian Henckel von Donnersmarck's "The Lives of Others" was amazing, so I hope that this one is as good.
