Ruben Fleischer Developing Mike White's 'Babe in the Woods'

Sony really loves Zombieland director Ruben Fleischer. He's already in pre-production on 30 Minutes or Less, another comedy for Sony Pictures / Columbia Pictures, and now he's attached to develop another one of their upcoming projects. Sony has officially announced (via press release) that Fleischer will direct Babe in the Woods, the project (which Sony picked up last year) written by actor/writer Mike White of School of Rock, Nacho Libre and Year of the Dog. Babe in the Woods is an "action-comedy centering on a female freshman from the Midwest who arrives at Yale and becomes a target of the New Jersey mob." Sounds fun!
"Our experience working with Ruben on Zombieland was nothing short of amazing," said Matt Tolmach, one of Sony's Presidents. "We love what Mike did with this script and could not be more thrilled to develop Babe in the Woods with these two guys. They bring the perfect blend of comedy and attitude to their projects." Give or take Nacho Libre, I usually enjoy Mike White's writing and comedy, and I'm looking forward to this already, especially with Fleischer at the helm. It just sounds like a very fun project and I can't wait to see it come together. Hopefully it's Ruben's next movie after 30 Minutes or Less, but you never know. Stay tuned!

White's a good guy so I'll always support what he does. If you watch him in The Amazing Race you'll see he's just all around a moral person who deserves the good karma he's gotten.
