Ryan Reynolds Hides with Denzel Washington in 'Safe House'

After quite an impressive and intimidating list of actors were named as candidates for a highly coveted role opposite Denzel Washington in the previously unveiled action thriller Safe House, we now have a winner. Deadline reports Ryan Reynolds is in talks to fit the project into his busy schedule after finishing work on the comedy The Change-Up early next year. Reynolds was the frontrunner amongst names like Chris Pine, Shia LaBeouf, James McAvoy and Tom Hardy, but this is confirmation that he'll play the young CIA agent who must transport a dangerous criminal (Washington) to safety after both are attacked at the safe house.
Though this is good news for Reynolds, who seems to be racking up projects like crazy, this does not seem good for the Deadpool spin-off waiting in the wings. There are rumblings that Warner Bros is fast tracking a Green Lantern sequel to guarantee he doesn't have time to make Deadpool for Fox in his off-time. Combine that with other projects like R.I.P.D. and it's going to be very hard for a Ryan Reynolds-led Deadpool flick to ever get off the ground in the next couple years. The specifics of Reynolds' deal to star in this are still being negotiated, including when exactly he'll be shooting, so anything could happen, but we'll keep you posted!

At least this gives Deadpool time to be tweaked.

dear god Deadpool is being made by Fox... I don't even know if I want it now. Hopefully they're gonna give the creative talent the control they need because "from the studio that brought you Daredevil Elektra and X-Men Origins: Wolverine" won't be a strong selling point

I think deadpool will be made still.. If you get an R rated deadpool done by robert rodriguez or someone of this calibur I think the movie will be better than green lantern.

Without an R-rating there would be no reason to see Deadpool, non whatsoever.

I'd rather Reynolds just stick to Hal Jordan anyways, Fox is going to ruin Deadpool and one comic book character for Reynolds to focus on is enough.

I can't believe no one has commented yet on how great that casting is...Denzel and Ryan so cool. Now when it comes to his other projects...well Compared to The GL, deadpool can wait forever loll!

Why does he keep signing up for movies I want to see him make Deadpool already. Rodriguez needs to sign the deal, becaus eknowing him the movie can be filmed in a month and still be awesome.

Why are WB doing this, this is seriously ridicilous, why would they stall Deadpool? If WB doesn't want a deadpool we fans want one with him as Wade Wilson.
