Sam Rockwell & Ari Graynor Are Joining Jonah Hill in 'The Sitter'
Though the actor can be seen stretching his dramatic chops in a limited release of Conviction this weekend, Sam Rockwell hasn't turned his back on comedy. The Wrap says Rockwell is in final negotiations to play a villainous drug dealer in David Gordon Green's comedy The Sitter starring Jonah Hill. The film follows a college dropout (Hill) who agrees to look after three mischievous kids as a favor to his mother. He's forced to take kids with him while he scores some drugs for a girl, but when the deal goes bad, the night turns into a wild chase through New York City, where Hill proves his mettle as a babysitter. And hilarity will ensue!
The R-rated take on Adventures in Babysitting sounds very promising. We heard earlier from our Casting Tidbits that J.B. Smoove would take the role of another drug dealer while Where the Wild Things star Max Records would play one of the terrible children. Joining Records as the mischievous group of kids will be Kevin Hernandez and newcomer Landry Bender. In addition, the lovely Ari Graynor (Nick and Norah's Infinite Playlist, "Fringe") will play the female lead. The Sitter hits theaters on July 15, 2011 (not everyone loves Harry Potter) and will be the second film from David Gordon Green in 2011. His pot fueled medieval comedy Your Highness opens three months earlier. Sounds like 2011 is going to be a good year for comedy.

Rockwell can do any role, he's very underrated. Gaynor is up and coming and is a scene stealer. This project sounds pretty good.

I didn't even read the article. I only saw Rockwell's name in the head line, which is enough to sell me on any movie.

So it's Adventures in Babysitting meets Pineapple Express? Can we start a petition for Vincent D'Onofrio to cameo as Thor?

Graynor is so pretty, I'll watch anything with her.

Don't tell mom the baby sitter OD'd on heroin.... It sounds a little formulaic, but Rockwell puts this on my radar. The man could sell ice to penguins.
