Sam Worthington is Making Sure Clash of the Titans 2 is 'Fun'

I know, I know, not many of you want to hear about Clash of the Titans 2, especially now that Predators is in theaters and Inception is right around the corner. But we've got an update from Sam Worthington that's pretty "fun" to hear, so I thought I'd cover this briefly. Worthington spoke with ComingSoon recently about the Clash of the Titans sequel, supposedly to be directed by Jonathan Liebesman, and promised that it will be shot in 3D. "[It] will be 3D this time… shot in 3D. Do put that in and make them f--king aware," he says. "In regards to the conversion, I'm a Jim Cameron boy, so people know my opinions." But that's not all!
Worthington also talks about how his input is helping them craft a much more "fun" movie this time around.
"When I read Clash 2, they came to me the other day. I said, 'I kinda dig where it's going, but can we make the character more of this? Can we make it more of that? Can I get to play a lot more and get involved and have a lot more f--king fun than just being a young man who has to stand there and look pretty?' I'm sick of doing that, so it's kind of a case of, 'How do we make Perseus a lot more fun?' So we're sort of shaping it down that track. And Warner Bros. has been nice enough to give us a bit on input."
Well, I hope that good thing, but I guess we won't know until this hits theaters. The story for this sequel is being penned by Greg Berlanti (of "Everwood") but we're not sure who's writing the screenplay, although it's probably the same writers from the first Clash. Worthington didn't add much else, but did joke that the first movie "suddenly became a rolling, runaway train in some parts." In the same update, Worthington answered some questions about the extended cut of Avatar hitting theaters this summer and what is being added to it, but didn't really seem like he knew anything for sure (just speculation). It doesn't sound like there is much more to report about Clash of the Titans for now, but we'll keep you updated on all of these projects anyway.

I'm not a fan of "actors taking control" (Bale in T3 anyone?) Just because you are an actor doesn't mean you are a film maker. But I have faith in Liebesman, and even though I haven't seen Clash I will someday and hopefully the sequel will get me pumped up.

Mr. Worthington is developing a habit of making lackluster movies, then going on to complain about the parts he didn't like and promise the next one will be better. As far as I'm concerned if an actor even feels the need to take control than the people he's working with aren't dedicated enough. I like Sam but he needs to choose projects that don't need fixing up.

@1 . I didn't know Bale acted in, let alone took control of, T3. I must've missed that. And I really don't care about this sequel too much. The first movie was real stupid, but I thought it was fun. The action was decent enough. It definitely doesn't need a sequel at all.

#3 sorry, it was late...a typo... ofc I meant T4. But Shia is also complaining about Transformers2 and Indiana Jones4... I mean... make them right from the beginning instead of trying to "flirt" with the fanbase afterwards.

I don't have to see this movie to know that it is tripe. Give me Troy and I'm set. No sequel should be made, but come on, we all knew it would happen. I think we can all agree that Worthington isn't on the level of Tatum, but he's pretty close. A lot of his movies are 'fun' to watch, but everything else about them is garbage. In my opinion, he almost ruined Avatar.

@Eli Avatar was ruined by Avatar. Worthington I think has the talent to surprise us all, I mean the guy has a pair of lungs, his screaming is nearly epic. As for Clash 2, I haven't seen Clash remake yet, so no opinion.

I don't know, lately I haven't been digging this guy. He comes off as extremely arrogant and cocky. Yes I know he's referring to being very dedicated to quality 3D When he says "I'm a Jim Cameron boy". But it also sounds like he's blatantly implying that "I started in the highest grossing movie ever so I should be allowed to call the shots." Not saying actors should not have a voice in the filmmaking process but he seems to be stepping out of his boundaries lines a little because of his new found status. I agree with #1, reminded a lot of Bale as I was reading through this.

I think he just learnt his lesson and dosent want to screw up like he did in first movie(which I thought he only did okay).heck I heard that he's willing have ringlets for the sequel. It's good that he worries for the viewers than just act away because actors are ment to entertain the audiance.I give Sam my support because he is doin his best and learning his mistakes than being drunk and goin to jail.
