Sean Anders & John Morris Land Pot Comedy 'We're the Millers'

After taking us back to the 80's with Hot Tub Time Machine, it looks like writers Sean Anders and John Morris are returning to directing. 24 Frames reports the Sex Drive directing duo will be puffing the magic dragon in the director's chair for We're the Millers, a marijuana fueled comedy. The story departs from the usual bumbling antics of pot smokers and instead focuses on an ambitious professional pot dealer who comes up with a scheme to create a fake family to move a large shipment of marijuana across the US border from Mexico. Sounds less like a typical pot comedy and more like the action infused Pineapple Express.

Steve Faber and Bob Fisher (Wedding Crashers) wrote the original script with Dan Fybel and Rich Rinaldi ("The Sarah Silverman Show") writing the most recent draft. Anders and Morris beat out director Burr Steers (17 Again, Charlie St. Cloud) for the job, but no cast has been announced yet. In addition to the writers behind the script, Anders and Morris' comedic talents quite impressed me with their writing for She's Out of My League (which I found to be one of the better romantic comedies from earlier this year). The project sounds like it could be a lot of fun, so we'll keep you posted as it develops. Anyone else interested?
