Survival of the Dead Trailer

It was mere coincidence that that same evening we wrote about a new concern over red band trailers, we just so happen to have one of the goriest red band trailers to feature tonight. This second, new trailer for George A. Romero's Survival of the Dead is a vast improvement over the first trailer (also red band) that arrived earlier this month. This one is edited together much better and includes some of the best zombie kills from the film (so don't watch it if you want to stay fresh… or can't handle wild, crazy zombies!). Other than that, I'll let you guys decided whether this looks good enough to see in theaters or on DVD or not at all.

Watch the new red band trailer for George Romero's Survival of the Dead thanks to IGN:

On an island off the coast of Delaware, local residents caught in a family feud must simultaneously fight a zombie epidemic while trying to find a cure to bring their un-dead relatives back to their human state.

Survival of the Dead is both written and directed by the legendary George A. Romero, of all things zombies and horror, from Night of the Living Dead to The Crazies to Dawn of the Dead to Creepshow to Day of the Dead to Monkey Shines to Land of the Dead. This is technically set in the same universe as Romero's Diary of the Dead from 2007 and is a spin-off/sequel of that film. This first premiered at Fantastic Fest last year with a Romero introduction. Magnet Releasing is bringing Survival of the Dead to theaters this May 28th.

Better trailer than the last one still blah on it. Romero please stop making movies! Diary of the dead was awful!

Romero is still the Master. I think this was a much better representation of the film. I will be there opening day. Zombies done right.

Haha, that last shot was awesome. I hated Diary and Land was a big Meh but loves the older ones. This seems a bit more in the lines of the old ones. Maybe the smaller budget has something to do with that? Seems quite quirky also and the actors doesnt seem to suck as they did in Diary. Cautiously positive!

Diary was awesome

Ach, its ok a film not great tho. Some nice head shots in it but other than that not to many inventive ways was seen in the film to kill a Zombie or a human, rather pish i tell ya even tho Mr.Romero had more money to play with for this film, could of been a hell of a lot better. Diary i think was a better film imop. OI, BILLINGTON...... any more news on the World War Z film yet?

It's your popcorn flick just see it for what it is "a zombie feast", the trailer is far better than the first one.

I will see this at some point.

I watched this the other day and it was horrible to say the least. Where Land of the Dead and Diary of the Dead were original, this movie was the opposite. Romero apologists will cry that he did not have nearly enough money to make a quality film, but last time I checked, dollars do not fix awful scripts and bad screenplays. I usually love Romero's films, but this was just a steaming pile.

george a.romero is a horror legend. dawn of the dead is a classic, but some of his later ones the likes of land & diary of the dead ain't all that. he should look at the likes of dead snow & zombieland for some ideas on how to make good quality zombie flick. REBOOT THE RESIDENT EVIL FRANCHISE & GEORGE A.ROMERO TO DIRECT. SIMPLE

I'm a massive Romero fan. I loved Land and thought that Diary was OK in terms of the storytelling style taking a different direction, but I've seen Survival and I must say it sucked. I tried to like it, some bits even managed to raise a little of the old zombie film magic I so love, but the story was crap, no matter how it's dressed up. The two families at war with each other and the characters involved were comprised of comedy figures that just didn't fit. I liked the idea of the island twist but felt that George could have taken it in a much better direction. Roll on World War Z...

great moive and love zombies

Hmmm. Zombie Cavalry... Cool.

I'll watch it, it'll be pretty daft I reckon, but it's got zombies in and people with strange plastic Paddy accents so it should be at least bearable. The last 2 zombie movies he's made have been borderline mediocre but watchable enough.

I saw this at Toronto Film Festival last year. It was good-ish, meaning that it had a few clever set pieces and some nice atmosphere but in the end it felt like more of the same. a little better than diary of the dead and will probably please(or maybe polarize, idk) fans of Romero/zombie movies.
