Tom Cruise and Jack Nicholson Might Reunite for 'El Presidente'
Since A Few Good Men is one of my favorite films, I can't tell you how many times I've enjoyed Tom Cruise demand the truth from Jack Nicholson only to have him so commandingly retort, "You can't handle the truth!" Now I may get to experience similar exhilaration all over again as 24 Frames says that the two A-list actors might re-team for action comedy El Presidente. The story, from writer Dan Goor ("Parks & Rec", "Late Night with Conan O'Brien"), follows a dedicated Secret Service agent (Cruise) assigned to protect a bumbling and degenerate ex-president (Nicholson) with apparently hilarious, yet quite dangerous, results.
The unlikely duo would find themselves on the run together when, you guessed it, a threat is made on the life of the ex-president. Warner Bros. has offered the role to Nicholson while Cruise has already attached himself to his respective role. However, as we've come to learn, being attached or even offered a project is no guarantee in Hollywood. But garnering big name talent like this means there's definitely something to the script that was just recently purchased earlier this week. Cruise's last outing with an action comedy (Knight and Day) didn't fare so well, but a reunion with Nicholson should get audiences paying attention. Anyone out there interested?
yeah I'm in.

I hope that Tom Cruise does more dramas from now on. He is pigeonholing himself as an actor who just does action movies. I've always wanted to see him do a movie with Julia Roberts and one with Tom Hanks. They are all incredible actors and it would be amazing to see them bounce off each other in a film.

I do not wish for comedy from either of these actors.

I would like to see that. Those guys have a comedy bone that could make the project work (mostly from Nicholson side). The only problem is that Tom Cruise is pretty much box office venom these days. Hopefully people could go beyond the couch-jump-gate and appreciate the guy again. I didn't think "Knight and day" was thaaaat bad, and yet, no one went to see the freakin' movie!

Hot damn, the inner comic in these two actors could totally shine.

Knight and Day was pretty damn good, still wish they kept the original title of Wichita though. Looking forward to this.
